So for the past year I've been dealing with the problem that the 60hz monitor is dragging down the 120hz monitor,
i have anultrawide 34" x34p 120hz 3440x1440,a dell 24" monitor 1920x1200 60hz in portrait,then a 24" 1920x1080p 60hz samsung.PC Specs2700x, aorus x470 gaming 5, 32gb 3200mhz trident z, 1tb samsung 970 pro m.2, bequiet dark power 11 850w, cm ml240r

for GPU, i have a aorus 1080ti for my main. and ive read a post here in reddit that the best way to counter this problem is to purchase a slave gpu to run the extra monitors of, so i bought:

a Quadro P400.

But still the problem persists, drivers and bios updated to latest.Running NVIDIA 436.02, Windows 10 updated to the latest version. all monitors running DP

if anyone who encountered this problem and fixed theirs, that would be appreciated thanks :)

What exactly does this entail?

my 120hz monitor suddenly locking at 60hz when i do something on the 2nd monitors ex. Playing YT videos

Just to make sure I'm understanding you properly:

When you're doing something on your main monitor, it works at 120Hz. When you switch to your second monitor, it brings the main monitor down to 60Hz?

Does it go back to 120Hz if you tab back into the main monitor?

I run 80Hz and 60Hz on my displays, I can have a game running at 80Hz with a YouTube video up on my second display without any issues.

when i play on my main monitor example Dota 2, when nothing is happening on the extra monitors the refresh rate (120hz) is fine also the fps is fine, but when i load vids. youtube or when i have preview on obs on my side monitors the fps considerably drops on my main monitor, sometimes even it shows that im locking at 120hz but the gameplay is very choppy it feels like 60hz, worst is the dota 2 fps suddenly locks down to 60fps like im running the monitor on 60hz which is not.

Do you have a GPU that isn't a Quadro that you can install alongside your 1080Ti? I think you'd have better luck getting the slave GPU idea to work if you had two GPUs that used the same drivers.
