Is there a High End Case w/o Hard Drive (3.5") racks?

A lot of case manufacturers have stopped including 5.25" bays.

5.25" bays are super rare these days, almost no cases have them

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

It's actually quite common to not have 5,25" racks.

But 3,5" racks are common still.

5,25" = DVD drives

3,5" = hard drives.

3,5" is still quite common, but you could look for a case that just has an option to remove them? What issue would there be in that?

P.S. I like to be able to still include a HDD. They are not dead yet!!!

Minibois,  thank you for correcting my post.  I want a case w/o 3.5" bays.  Harm=space, waste.  Spinners are dead for new builds, though I get the utility of people wanting to save money and not transfer their files to a $50 SSD, but for brand new builds with PCIe 4.0 soon all PCIe 3.0 media will be dinosaurs.

Many cases still seem to include HDD's in their systems for the sake of ubiquitous use.

For example, if my case didn't include any 3,5" bays, it would only become a bit smaller (about 5cm in depth smaller). That way you would lose some longer GPU support too or the ability to mount a reservoir.

Just taking a look quickly on PCPartPicker it seems like cases with no 3,5" mounting are not plentiful (although some are tagged incorrectly, in a list of cases with no 'internal 3,5" bays', the Air 540 makes an appereance, which has 2 3,5" bays included..)

Certain mITX system may have omitted these bays, which I think would be the only scenario where it makes sense to really safe space.

I do not agree with your sentiment of not needing HDD's (it's still great to have the option to pay 60 euros and be able to store 2TB of files, instead of having to pay 200 euros right now). Of course external drives/NAS would be an option at that point too, but that is IMO not an option for programs for example.. But that's a discussion for another thread!

Thanks again, Minibois, for your reply. I realize that what I really want is a ATX mobo in a mini- or micro ATX case. Ah, my humanity is showing: always wanting what we can not have...smh!...:-(

You can have it, you just gotta pay for it
