Hello. I'm a noob to pc building and a big fan of LTT

Ryzen 3600

Asus Rog Strix b450-f

Kingston 120gb ssd

Corsair vengeance LPX 16GB 3200MHz

Gigabyte GTX 1660 ti windforce OC

My new pc was working fine, I was doing some gaming and had no problems. But then, I started trying to overclock my CPU. I tried use the Ai tweaker tab in my bios to set my CPU clock to 4000mhz. It would not boot. No big deal, I just went back to the bios, undid the changes and everything was working fine.

However, I then went into the Advanced tab. I don't remember the exact text and I cannot find a screen shot. I selected an option named something like "AMD Ryzen overclocking" that allowed me to set the clock and voltage of the CPU. I set the clock to 4000Mhz but left voltage to 0. Went to save and exit but it said there were no changes to save.

Now I'm stuck on the white debug LED when trying to boot. Nothing posts to monitor, I can't get to bios. I'm confused because I thought the white LED was for the graphics card. I didn't tinker with the GPU at all and it was working fine before

Update : I tried the GPU in another PC and can confirm it works. I have tried clearing the CMOS by removing the clock and using jumper on the pins. No luck. Do I need to buy a new motherboard?

Shut your system down. Pull the battery out of the board for 30 seconds and then put it back in. This will clear your BIOS back to default.

I also have the same problem! It is very frustrating.

I did a BIOS update. First the System startet, but the memory frequency was detectet to low. After changing the RAM frequency to its native 3200MHz, the system did not boot up anymore. Also the board shows a white LED.

ASUS ROG B450 f
AMD Ryzen 3600

Any ideas or solutions?? Is the mainboard broken now?

i upgraded my cpu today from a ryzen 5 2600 to ryzen 5 3600x, pc booted and worked fine a few hours, but then i did the exact same as you did and got the exact same problem, now my pc wont boot :(

i later put my old cpu back in, and it booted no problem but as soon as i put the 3600x back in, then its back to the white light and no boot

I found a solution. What I did was putting my old cpu in and updated the bios to an older version. After that I swapped the CPUs again and it works. I did not update the bios after that in fear that I would have the same problem. No other solutions like taking the cmos battery worked for me. This was the only way for me.

Was your old cpu an ryzen 2600? Or can you use any old cpu to fix it?
