Hi, I'm from Italy and I think I'm going to buy this laptop, but I'm not sure about the hardware. I play videogames occasionally, but when I do, I usually like open world games like GTA o Watch Dogs. I also love the Hitman series, and I would like to try the new Tomb Raider series. I also use Photoshop and sometimes, only sometimes, Sony Vegas for video editing. I'm really afraid of the temperatures, since my latest HP non-gaming laptop lasted 7 years, I would really like the new one to live at least for 5 years. I really don't care about the FPS or the graphics, I'm ok playing just at medium settings. I'm also on a budget and I can't afford more than a GTX1650, I need to stay under 1k. So, what would you recommend? With gtx1650 4GB I should choose an i7-9750H processor or the i5-9300H? Thank you!

PS: If you have any other valuable suggestions other than the lenovo y540, I would like to hear them.

Look for a 1660 (Ti) - there is no real benefit in getting the i7 9750H since it's clocked lower and thus will probably not perform better than the i5 9300H

You can probably get a 1660 Ti laptop fro that price. Maybe the Asus GA502 with a Ryzen 7 3750H and 1660 Ti

I don't think they sell it in here, since I couldn't find any store, just Amazon UK.

You don't think the GTX 1650 will last for a while for those games in medium settings? Isn't it better than the 1050ti one?

The 1660 Ti is simply vastly superior. The 1650 is only 15-20% faster than a 1050 Ti

Yeah, but I don't have the budget for the 1660ti. On the Lenovo website it's more than 1300€. The 1650 will last for a few years with medium settings?

Will I be able to run Sony Vegas with the i5 CPU?

Look at other laptops as well - not just the Y540

What country are you buying from?

I really liked the y540 because the thermals seems lower and the design is not the usual gaming look.

1660 Ti, Ryzen 7 and 120Hz display. Enjoy

If that's over budget, the Ryzen 5 model is also a good option

No I don't really care. I think the slimmer they are, the hottest they become. So I don't care about weight. Neither battery life, since I intend to use it at home, most of the time. I can't buy a desktop one because... well, I don't have a desktop. My room is very small so I need the laptop to use it on my bed, on top of a ventilated base, of course.

Online stores, well... the prices are too high. I think I'll buy it on Amazon (selled and shipped by them, though) or I wanted to buy the Lenovo on their website, since it costs less and they usually give discounts. The stores where I can physically buy it tends to have higher prices. I can link you those two, they usually give more discounts: https://www.mediaworld.it/catalogo/computer-e-smart-home/computer/notebook & https://www.unieuro.it/online/Computer-e-Tablet/Gaming/Notebook
