Whenever I try to install Windows 10 on my SSD, my PC crashes randomly somewehere in the process. Sometimes even before the installation, sometimes right in the process and sometimes just when its about to finish. I tried a lot to resolve this issue, the spec-list can be found below:

  • installed the newest BIOS-version (7B17vA5)

To exclude the installation media as a source of malfunction:

  • generated a new version of the USB-installer using the Windows Media Creation Tool
  • tried a different USB
  • used both USB after another in each USB-slot (3.1 Gen2, 3.1 Gen1, and 2.0)

To exclude wrong installation of the components:

  • reseated CPU&RAM

To exclude mass storage:

  • put my M.2 NVMe in the other slot
  • tried a SATA HDD instead

To exclude Windows as a source of failure:

  • tried to install Ubuntu Bionic beaver

However, the issue still persist. When I am booting a live Linux, the system just boots fine and I can even stresstest it without failing.

SPECLIST:

  • i5 9600k
  • beqeuit! Dark Rock Slim
  • MSI Z390 EDGE AC
  • 1x 8GB Corsair Vengeance 2666MHz
  • some bequiet PSU
  • some old ATX case

How exactly does it crash?

Purify your Windows 10/11, don't give Microsoft anything that you don't want to share.

It just turns of - the lights go out, the fan stops spinning, the monitor turns off - then it reboots. When it boots to the (corrupted) windows it shows a BS and says [...] file missing /system32/windows/winload.exe [...]

Tried to do everything w/o case and/or with no front I/O things connected?

Why should the case be the issue? I only got the front power switch connected for now, since the mainboard doesnt have a own switch.

If you can, try swapping some parts with your friends/coworkers and see if their MoBo (or some other part) can work (swap one part at a time). That will mean that the fault in that part that was swapped.
