Hi guys, My 1st post here actually ?

So I'm building this new PC for mainly gaming, well VR gaming to be specific. And after doing a lot of research (Linus videos) i came up with this build since i don't exactly have a massive budget , If you guys have any suggestions on anything i should change or add that'll still stay with in my budget i really would appreciate it!

For Reference my budget is 160,000 SLRs which is about 888$

My Build:

CPU - Amd Ryzen 5 3400g Desktop Processors With Wraith Spire

Motherboard - MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS AMD X570 Gaming Motherboard

Memory - Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4  3000MHz C16 Memory Kit

SSD - WD GREEN 240GB M.2 STORAGE

Power supply - Raidmax Scorpio RX-735AP-S 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply

Graphic Card - Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060  Windforce OC 3GB GDDR5
Graphics Card

Monitor - ASUS VZ229H 21.5 FULL HD, IPS, ULTRA-SLIM, FRAMELESS,

swap for a cheap b450

get something else, quite high failure rate

that sounds explosive...

how's pricing on the rx 570 and 580?

keep in mind that's just a 14nm part, with that GPU you're better off with something like a 1600 or 2600

Ditch the X570 and get an X470 or even a B450, you'll save a bunch and won't lose anything that matters to you since the 1060 doesn't support PCIe 4.0.

Try and swap the RAM for a 3600 kit, that way you'll be running 1:1 RAM Infinity Fabric OOTB.

That PSU seems questionable, never heard of that brand at all.

RX580 might be a better fit too.

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

Alright guys so after reading all the help you guys gave me , i changed it up a bit . All of you guys say not to go for Ryzen 3rd gen? Why is that ? Does the 2600 really beat it?

Thing is the 3400G is Alot cheaper than the 2600 but after downgrading the motherboard it came to the same budget so that works out. The PSU yes it is un-heard of but checked some reviews and it seems okay? Anyway i swapped that out too (Btw 550w or 650w?), One of you mentioned 3600mhz ram but that isn't in my budget. And i also changed the GFX to a RX580.

New Build :

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Processor with Wraith Spire Cooler

Motherboard - MSI B450M BAZOOKA PLUS AMD Motherboard

Also have the choice of  - MSI B450M PRO-M2 Motherboard       (Which is cheaper)

Memory - Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4  3000MHz C16 Memory Kit

SSD - CORSAIR FORCE SERIES MP510 240GB M.2 NVME SSD

Power supply - Corsair VS650 - 650 Watt 80 PLUS White Certified Power Supply

Graphic Card - MSI Radeon RX 580 ARMOR 8GB OC 256-Bit GDDR5 Graphics Card

Monitor - ASUS VZ229H 21.5 FULL HD, IPS, ULTRA-SLIM, FRAMELESS,

because that 3400g is a zen1+ part, not zen 2 7nm

well... raidmax isn't exactly known for good PSUs, the only somewhat decent one I've seen is a 80+ platinum, but even that one lacked some important things.

how much price difference between that and a 2600?

i approve of that

get dual channel on am4... it helps a lot

sata is sufficient here

group regulation, inside Corsair step up to at least the cx line, or cxm if it's much cheaper. 450 would do here

the worst 580 out there, honestly

Difference is not worth plus the 2600 isn't available

Then I'd have to go back to the 1060 3GB as there are no other Rx580's available

well, 570 is close to the 1060 3gb actually

well... it's just hot, so it won't turbo as far

but it should be better than a 1060 3gb
