TL;DR my old desktop started randomly locking up after I was gone for a couple days (it was powered off at the switch on the PSU) and while troubleshooting, the CPU apparently died.

I'm probably gonna go Ryzen 2rd gen, while reusing the parts I believe to be good (don't have spares to make sure)

Here's what I'm thinking

Again, most of the stuff I believe to have survived, but I know the CPU is dead and I don't know about the motherboard. Better safe than sorry.

I'm just looking for input in regards to CPU and Motherboard choice. Would it be wiser to do Ryzen+ (2xxx) or stick with a 3600? If I do decide to go Ryzen 2xxx, should I save some money by going for a B350 board or go for a B450?

I work at a fast food joint so I don't exactly make heaps of money, but I have about $350 I'm willing to save up/spend from savings

**Edit**

Or should I do like a i5 9400f and matching mobo?

Stick with the 3600, get a B450M/AC instead of that board.

I was just looking at MicroCenter and they have some sweet deals on 2xxx and 1xxx Ryzen parts and mobos, plus a discound if you buy a matching set

So I might go there when I have off and get them

get the pro4 instead and ask them to update the BIOS if it's not already updated. the 3600 still has the $50 discount.
