Hello, I have recently noticed that the sky is flickering in both Watch Dogs 2 and GTA V (Singleplayer and Multiplayer). It looks like the brightness in the sky is changing rapidly, but I haven't noticed it in other games yet - but I don't play many different games at the moment, so it could be happening in others too. I did basically everything I could think of, which would be: Reinstalling my Graphics drivers, changing graphics drivers, Reinstalling windows (because I had to do that anyways), trying out every combination with Gsync and Vsync on/off, limiting my FPS, turning the Graphics Settings up and down (the latter helped in Watch Dogs 2, however it looked kind of bad and didn't help in GTA V anyways), trying out different cables, switching from DisplayPort to HDMI, using a different monitor with a completely different Panel, Refresh Rate and Resolution (Didn't help), underclocking my GPU, limiting my CPU core clock, overclocking my Monitor to 165hz (that feature came with the monitor) using a different Mainboard and ultimately swapping my GPU with my friend's GPU (a GTX 1070TI). The result was that the flickering still occured on my PC, but not on my friend's, which makes it rather clear that my GPU isn't the problem here.

My specs are:

GPU: RTX 2080 Gaming X Trio

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x

Mainboard: Asus x470-F

Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HUAbmiprz

I should also mention that I installed all the necessary and newest drivers for my components. Of course I also didn't tweak anything in the Registry/PC settings.

I would be very glad if someone could help me with that, since I am really running out of ideas.

Thank you for reading.

@Faisal A thank you for your response, but unfortunately that didn't help either. It seems like this is an issue with my CPU, so I am using a different combination now until this gets fixed. Thank you anyways!

Hey guys I apologise for replying 1.5 years later. I am experiencing this same issue and I would appreciate an answer. You said that changing your cpu fixed it? Did you change only your cpu or did you change to intel and also change gpu? I have been experiencing this issue for so long and I'm getting really sad at this point because I can't play the game properly anymore. Thank you :)

Putting this here for everyone to see, I tested it again after like a year, and it seems like I fixed it well enough. First of all, what is important to know, is the fact that this apparently happens in GTA V too, both on Console and PC. At least on my end. I've played around a bit with Watch Dogs now, and managed to get rid of the flicker quite quickly. What I did was: Turn Gsync completely off, check that no Antivirus or anything is interfering with the game by blocking it, set my Monitor to 60 HZ, enable standard ingame Vsync. I also set my graphics settings to High, enabled temporal filtering and set the Ambient Occlusion to HBAO+. What I also noticed was that, if you look really hard, the flicker is still slightly present, seems to be just how the game works. But as long as it doesn't look like a lightshow it's alright. If it still bothers you, leave Motion Blur on, this seems to make the issue even less visible. I also have a pretty recent driver right now. Also my game runs in fullscreen.
