Which board for Ryzen 7 2700x?

I have my eyes on

MSI X470 Gaming Plus,

ASUS Prime X470 Pro,

ASUS ROG Strix X470-F Gaming,

MSI X470 Gaming Pro.

Are these boards good for overclocking with good VRM and power delivery?

Which one is the best in the list?

Any recommendation?

3600 beats it in games slightly so the 2700x better be cheap

Best out of here is the Asus X470-F, followed by MSI Gaming Plus and then Pro. Prime Pro is the worst

Amazon US

Ryzen 7 2700x: $240

Ryzen 5 3600: $190

But Ryzen 7 has more core and thread.

I can go with X570 MSI MPG and Ryzen 5 3600. But on Asus X470-F, I will need to flash the BIOS to use Ryzen 3rd.

If you'll be ONLY gaming, the 3600 would be better (and will save you some money) However, almost any kind of other work (Editing, rendering, etc.) will make really good use of the extra cores.

If Ryzen 5 3600 can do those fine than I don't mind getting Ryzen 5 3600 over Ryzen 7 2700x that can save me $70.

The 3600 can definitely do all of that fine, but the 2700x would still be better in multi-tasking. Your call. Check the benchmarks and performance tests of each and make your choice. I'd say that any of them would be a good choice anyway, so don't hesitate too much. Also, this is somewhat irrelevant but just in case, don't use UserBenchmark for any CPU comparisons. With its current CPU grading algorithm, taking its data as an accurate measure of almost any aspect is not recommended at all. The site is good for comparing most other components, though. Best of luck! ❤️

TUF board is the best by far, if you want to be 3950x ready get this. Otherwise the cheapest X570 or B450 with BIOS flashback will do

It is shit among X570, ok overall. If you want the details then MSI (both) are the best, Gigabyte third, Asrock last.

Choose 2700 for VM performance, 3600 for gaming. In video editing the speed difference depends on whether such task wants faster cores or more cores so I call it a tie.

No you dont have to, you'll blow up the CPU or the board first before power draw is high enough to need the 4pin.

I used the ASUS ROG Strix X470-F Gaming for my 2700x (well my son's anyway) honestly it was from a feeling of quality the best board I have handled. everything on it is just... nice, it is beautiful.

from a non aesthetic though did research and decided the ROG board was probably worth the premium price tag. If i were building on a tighter budget it would have been one of the first things cut though.

Satisfy OCD and running 14 core+ Skylake-X or 16 core+ Zen.

doesnt have bios flashback so updating the bios requires using an older CPU (same for X470-F), otherwise a decent board at about $170.
