Same, but I have the RVII (and just put a waterblock on it) so I don't think I really have a good excuse.... 

The 5700XT does have the fancy pants Radeon Image Sharpening or whatever they call it, would defo help with stuff that looks softer than I'd like it.

i cant say id spend the money to swap my 2.1GHz 1080 for a 5700XT but its the THICC edition

ooo noice. I had two EVGA 1080 SCs that did 2100MHz in SLI once, they were hella fine. Need to see if I can get my RVII to run 2100Mhz stable, but wattman is still wack with reporting actual speeds, so you have to bench it and see an improvement to confirm it's actually running that, and I haven't bothered to set aside the time to do that since I'm still only playing on 1080p.

i have the EVGA FTW(the one with the hot af VRM lel) with a watercool heatkiller IV block, its like 15c over room temp at its warmest too

Noice! Mine were on the air coolers, 66C max alone, in SLI the top card went to 76C. Very nice cards indeed. My RVII on its EK block (tfw no heatkiller , my CPU is on a Heatkiller IV tho) maxes at around 43-45C under full load, hot spot hits 75C, 78C in a couple games. That's down from a 110-115C hotspot on the stock cooler so I'd say it's a marked improvement. Plus dat single slot life, did find it amusing how it's half the size of the stock card but weighs more now, lol.

TBH Ive been waiting for AIB 5700XT (or the 2080ti killer rumors go on about) - the fact they named it THICC means this would be the one I get if I go with air cooling.

sweet, thats a really nice improvement from the block. sucks about the heatkiller though, im never going to get past the fact that i didnt order a heatkiller CPU block and went with a supremacy EVO. not a fan, performance is meh, looks are meh, build is meh and so on.

My EK block is really well made and looks great, I think the Heatkiller IV I had for my Vega FE before might have been a teeny, teeny bit better finished. Had an EK monoblock (they're the only ones who made one for the CH7 IIRC), it wasn't as nicely finished as my Heatkiller CPU block is now. Really like the clean no nonsense looks of the Heatkiller line too. 

 

EK did kill it with the tubing though, I use their ZMT stuff, EK stubbies (they were like $1 or something, super cheap and with zip ties they work great), an a D5 pump/res combo because it was reasonably priced:

i run clear tubes and yellow coolant, mayhems ultra clear and mayhems pastel coolant because colour is nice i do use EK fittings, i really like their soft tube compression ones but they kind of cut up your fingers when working with them because the threads are ultra sharp entire build needs some proper fans though, but with no money coming in atm thats a big fat nope lol

My R7 could run 2100MHz+ core and 1300MHz memory playing Apex and CSGO.. I didn't really test many games but I never saw a problem unless I dropped voltage too low.. I used a Bykski waterblock and power play tables on mine..

Edits registry to increase power/frequency limits imposed by AMD.. For instance I think the most power you can add to stock is +20, after PPT (power play tables) you can +99 power limit. I also don't think you can go to 1300MHz on the memory without it..

If anyone got the 5700XT THICC 2 already, I would like to know the db's under load and temperatures, those are the first two things I would like to know from partner cards every time one gets released, since benchtests regarding FPS's vs 2060 Super - 2070 - 2070 Super are already well known from reference models, the problem was cooling and sound, that's the only important benchtest I need from every partner card that gets released with custom cooling.

The other thing that is important for me is unrelated to partner cards, but 5700XT in general. The support for artists, basically as a workstation card, how well does it do within 3D and 2D programs vs nVidia where they have the driver support for many artists software tools.

well the Thicc card actually seems to have some issues judging by amazon reviews, for an artist the 5700 xt and 5700 will be fine because there gpu's there built for rendering so they should do you fine but nividia is also a good option still because amd drivers are really bad at the moment
