Thinking of buying an AOC monitor, think it might be stolen though.

An list of reason I can’t explain, but I’m quite positive, I feel it was stolen during delivery. Can I get done if I purchase it?

If you feel it was stolen, don't buy it.  Or buy it and deal with the issue of it being stolen.

 

Looking for a way out cuz you bought something you thought is stolen is ridiculous.

 

Like people buy scams on Ebay knowingly.

Not that I condone buying stolen goods, but is there any way it can be traced to you? If not, and it's a good deal, play dumb and go for it anyway!

I have no clue. There might be. It’s just about morals though, and if it needs repair they might not repair it.

Sent me the serial number. I’ve looked online on is it stolen websites though and can’t find anything.

If it was stolen during the delivery like you think, then I'd guess the person who originally bought it would have had a replacement sent out, and the company probably paid compensation by the courier. So in my eyes, there's nothing wrong with it

Ok nothing wrong with it, apart from the morals against the company, but the serial numbers still probably noted as stolen by the company, so if it goes wrong it probably can’t be replaced.

Your brain works weird.

 

The company then would be out the stolen unit, as they were paid for 1 and 2 were no longer in their inventory.  Or as you say, the Courier would then be out the cost of a monitor and have no monitor.  Or a step further, their insurance if they submitted a claim (for that amount, doubt it).

 

Just say you're cool with dealing in stolen items.  Your weak ass logic thing didn't work as "nothing wrong".

Either way, you're not covered under warranty. AOC's warranty is for the original purchaser with proof of purchase.  You won't have that, regardless.

Phoned up AOC, they said first time they had a case like this. Case was escalated. Will find out in 2 days.

 

If it’s stolen, I won’t buy it and he will be reported to police, and I’ll be down a monitor I wanted but morals above money.

 

If it’s not, I’m down £400, but up a monitor,

There are so many monitors to choose from these days it seems silly to even entertain buying this one if you have to go through this much hassle to see if it's stolen/if you'll get in trouble/if you can get it repaired.

 

Unless this is literally the only monitor that meets you needs I'd move on.  Even if it's a decent deal I'd still move on.

It totally depends on the context.

 

It's like if I found some money on the floor, if nobody was around to see me pick it up, I'd keep it. If there were people around, I'd hand it in

 

I just weigh up whether it's worth the risk.

 

If it's totally obvious it's stolen, I wouldn't touch it (so if it's selling considerably low market value)

If it can be easily traced, I wouldn't touch it (so basically anything that connects to the internet)

If it's an expensive item, I wouldn't touch it 

 

At the end of the day, if there's a possibility the item is stolen but there's nothing obvious that shows it is, and the price is good, I'd probably go for it, assuming I couldn't get something similar for the same price. If I know it's stolen, I wouldn't touch it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to find out if it is.
