Is this RTX 2080 Ti price too good to be true?

Maks244

I found this seller which is selling the card for a sweet price of 999 euros. I mean, I could just buy it and return it if it's used or broken.

I dont get it, why would anyone look at the seller's name and be like "yeah I should do a creditibility check" instead of saying "I'm not risking it"?

(And the expectations (Erwartungen) was getting nothing? :P)

Now, this could be a resold Chinese card, and be fully legit. Or, what I sadly assume (but am not 100% sure about!), it is indeed a scam.

Because it's clearly a scam. Not only does the seller has super few reviews, but the name seems to be made up by rolling sb's face on a keyboard. I dont know German, but even I know that's not a proper name. This not being thrifty, this is being stupid

How can someone get scammed on amazon though? Don't they have like a money-back guarantee and all of that?

they do have a money back for the US, but i wouldn't order something knowing it's likely a scam, that's just pure greed, the amount you save is not enough for the risk you take and the claim you'd have to file.

I don't personally know, as I don't live in a country that has a proper Amazon web store.

Nope they don’t give you money back only if it’s sold and shipped by Amazon if it shipped by the seller they cannot recover nothing that’s your loss.

999 Eur for something that is clearly sketchy af? Why then not throw in 50-100 EUR more or even for the same 999 EUR find like Evga SC black edition and buy something legit? :) For this small margin in price definitely not worth the risk.

There is no way of finding an EVGA rtx 2080 ti card that's under 1300 Euros in the Netherlands.

Because I'm buying a Valve index and the best of I can buy for it but I still wanna save as much money as I can. Obviously I can buy every part overpriced and pay 3000 or do my research and pay 2400 or less Euros.

probably a flash bios'd 980 or 1080 assuming they even send you anything at all. I have had several from china purchases through amazon for cheap woodworking tools that never show up and I think thier assumption is you will not bother to ask for money back on a $3-7 jig or tool. in a 999 euro card though people will notice it not show up so idk.
