Will this build work/Do i need to buy anything else

Go to solution Solved by Caennanu,

So i used partpicker to check your current list. This is what it comes down to.

If you would opt for a ryzen build instead, it could look something like this. Which will serve you much better for gaming purposes.

Hey, will this setup work?

Case: SilientumPC RG4T

CPU: Intel Core i7 8700

GPU: Changes to POWERCOLOR RADEON RX 570 RED DRAGON 8GB help font broke

SSD: Changed to ADATA 240GB

HDD:  WD 2TB 64MB SATA3

Power supply: Changed to Corsair CX550

Graphics card:  ASUS Prime  Z360-P

CPU cooling: Noctua  NH-U9 TR4-SP3 (overkill for i7 or not?)

RAM: 8GB HyperX Fury Black DDR4

Here is a picture of my current setup (it has 5 years) only graphics card was replaced because it brokeIMG_20190809_132018.thumb.jpg.4a036c0c3eece0c14b8da6e266aad144.jpg

What is your budget? These are far from optimal part choices, if I am being honest.

now knowing your budget. and since you have powerfull CPU compare to GPU

I think if you want to game alittle get 1650 or 1050TI. pls no 1050. or rx570 power color red dragon.

SSD. avoid A400. just go Adata su650 for budget-friendly

HDD : WD blue

550w for that isnt overkill. but i recommend you to go CX or CXM

For mobo i don't know and for ram at least put dual-channel on it. or go 16GB for a better workstation.

You could, if they are both DDR4, but it is very likely they are either not DDR4 or that they are of different speeds, so i would recommend against doing this.

you forgot a 2nd storage drive, and calculated into USD, where Euro would more closely resemble his situation. Aside of the mainboard and NVME over SSD, the build is pretty much the same as mine.

Yes you can, the only reason i took this case is because it costs about the same and i couldn't select your choice in the partpicker ;)

I don't know why your font breaks, but probably you're hitting some key to make it bigger.

But yes the RX570 should work as it is also a PCIexpress card

It's because you're copy and pasting the text I'm assuming.

Also, someone add a can of compressed air to that parts list so OP can clean that system up.

It's okay mate, don't worry. This is also the internet, which can be a hazardous place.

If you want to copy / paste without any big letters etc. appearing, paste it in notepad first, then copy it over from there. Fairly save then.

When you copy and paste text you will receive a pop-up at the bottom of the reply box that will allow you to paste as plain text. Click that and it will fix the issue.

After clicking "Paste as plain text instead":

The R5 2600 would save some more money over the R5 3600. Also you might find a Vega 56 for less than the cost of that GTX 1660.

In this list you quoted from me, it has a 1660TI, which is a lot more powerfull than the 1050Ti and roughly 100 dollar / euro more expensive. Local markets can vary in prices so i cannot 100% accurately advice you on what to get. Only guide you to what in my opinion is best for the criteria given.

@lee32uk also has a good point. a Vega 56 or 64 could fit your needs too, as well as an 2600 or 2700 which should come up around the same price.

--- panic edit, for some reason a screenshot kept appearing, is gone now.
