Can you fold on two computers at the same time? Using my laptop as a radiator for my room sounds in theory like a good idea. Sweden is getting cold now haha

Yep, I will have 3 up for the event using 5-6 GPUs

Oh lordy! That's a lot of gpus! My client doesn't want to do any gpu WUs right now since it wants the pc to be idle. Can I change this?

You can change it from on idle by right clicking the icon in your system tray and unchecking on idle. or set folding to full if its already set to fold even when not idle

judging based on geforce website, it does consume up to 110 watts.. you'd kind of be better to save for a little and get a 1050ti or smth, though if the electricity isn't something you pay for and you have the power supply for the job - why not.

Them Germans will win this battle with us producing 145m PPD, but we will win the war. We just have to watch for the banana people from pulling a Soviet Union and attacking us in the rear.

PC Games Hardware are doing quite well, I wasn't expecting them to be able to pull off such an increase in production. They got 193M points yesterday up from their usual 70-80M.

Nice to see they're making us work for that 9th spot. Should keep things interesting over the next few months.

You have to give it to the guys, some friendly intra-forum rivalry can go a long way.

I just hope we can live up to my hopes of a 10billion point month. I don't see why not but who knows.

i've got a half hour wait before i can find out what it does to this 1080ti of mine, but it's baseline is about 1.1mppd and considering these WU's are behaving much like the old c22 p11733 WU's did, i'm expecting to see somewhere between 1.6-1.8mppd out of it

edit: unable to force my 1080ti to download a p14228 which sucks so i'll have to wait until i catch it doing one

I added the advanced flag and got a 14228 WU with my 1080Ti as the next work unit. With my settings it was around 1.2M PPD estimate (compared to around 1-1.1M PPD average), so a little increase of around 10% over other WUs. Not as big as you were hoping, but I am running more economical settings so you might see a little bit more of an increase than me if you have your card maxed out for performance, but I'd say expecting 1.6-1.8M PPD would be optimistic.

Seeing the RTX 2060S doing 1.3M PPD makes my 1080Ti weep.

No sign ups after it starts though. PS we should have more shout outs this weekend.

I'm mulling over 2x 2060 (a real steal) or a 2070

huh? I'm doing about 1.15-1.3m on other WUs on 1080Ti's

i.e. 14180 1.27 atm

though fans maxed, effective clocks 2025 core, 10100 mem vcore 1.093 (that's not the XOC card, and it's a pretty bad model - the evga sc black that got pulled and replaced by icx models, this is one of those not replaced LOL), doesn't go above 63C

F@H Badge Thresholds

In order to be rewarded with the Folding @ Home badge, please note the following requirements. (subject to change)

  • fold_mem.pngContributor - When you have contributed more than 21 Work Units (WU), you will qualify for this badge, to show your commitment to LTT and the team.
  • fl_bronze1-F6.0.pngBronze Contributor - When you have contributed more than 1 Million points, you will qualify for this badge. This reflects your serious and continued support of the team.
  • fl_silver1-F6.0.pngSilver Contributor - When you have contributed more than 25 Million points, you will qualify for this badge. This reflects your serious and continued support of the team and your very generous donation of resources.
  • fl_gold1-F6.0.pngGold Contributor - When you have contributed more than 100 Million points, you will qualify for this badge.. This reflects your dedication and continued support of the team and your very generous donation of resources.
  • plat.pngPlatinum Contributor - When you have contributed more than 500 Million points, you will qualify for this final badge. You are now a legend!

Technically it's the Platinum badge, but it says "Legendary" on it so I often refer to it as the Legendary Badge. Thought I remember it only being 250M points (to be fair I rarely give this badge out)..... Ah well, guess I'll have to wait longer then ?

The 2060 is really close to the 2070 in terms of performance. I’m seeing 1.1MPPD versus 1.3MPPD
