LTT Official Folding Month 2019!!!

Go to solution Solved by GOTSpectrum,

Alright guys, the time for locking this thread has come, can you all please use the Folding Community Board for all further talk.

Thank you all again for participating in the event.

Once the sheet is cleaned up I will edit this post to add the link to the spreadsheet.

@TVwazhere Can you please lock this thread for me.

On my one Windows system I have found I don't have to reboot to recover from a stalled Download.

1. Quit the FAHClient from the System Tray:

2. End all FAHClient Tasks still showing up in Task Manager

3. Restart Folding at Home from Start Menu:

I found removing the GPU slot and then reading it causes a new WU to be downloaded which fixes the issue for me

Anyone know what could of caused the FAH client to read my VEGA 56 as VEGA 10 and slow down progression considerably?

I woke up this morning with the GPU slot stuck on ready. I removed the GPU slot and put it back, restarted the computer and read VEGA 10 XL/XT [Radeon RX VEGA 56/64)

It used to only show the Radeon RX VEGA part

Anyone but me folding 24/7 but not getting over top 500 ?

Makes me wonder if that few PPD is even worth it folding... Since the beginning of the month I made less than top 100s make in one day

You're part of the (mostly) Silent Majority.

There are:

42 team members producing between 2 and 21 Million PPD

88 team members producing between 1 and 2 Million PPD

118 team members producing between 500,000 and 999,999 PPD

137 team members producing between 250,000 and 499,999 PPD

160 team members producing between 100,000 and 249,999 PPD

136 team members producing between   50,000 and   99,999 PPD

219 team members producing between   15,000 and   49,999 PPD

1062 team members producing between 1 and 14,999 PPD

Your likely folding on just your CPU which is important as though the GPU folding gets a lot of attention CPU Folding is necessary for some projects as only a CPU can do the complex calculations required by these projects.

While it is fun to measure your progress make it a fair comparison and instead look how you are progressing up the ranks.

Contributing what you can over a long period can lead to significant gains. This is the beauty of Distributed Computing. Everyone contributes what they can and collectively we help to do amazing things.

Yep, heck, look at the total output by the whole team.  Currently LTT is outputting so much that if we kept this up for another two months or so, the team could take over four to five places above it.

That's true, it's actually very cool we hit half a million ?

I'm actually folding on mainly 2 gpus and sometimes cpu when I'm at university I'm pushing my pc to it's best x) but even then I don't hit over 60k ppd.

And you’ve managed to get teams Red and Green to play nicely together which is no small feat!

According to the Extremeoverclocking site, if I'm reading it correctly, less than 1,000,000 people have ever signed up to fold, and most of them aren't doing it anymore it seems. Think of how many machines there are in the world that are just sitting idle, whether through being ignorant of distributed computing or just apathy. Yet, here you are throwing your gear, even if it isn't super top notch, into the fray. You are making a difference, my friend, in a big way; you and all of the others who can't rack up 1M ppd can still gang up and make a big difference with the Fold of 1,000 Cuts. Everyone who has done something is a winner, in my book.

recover from a stalled Download.

that doesn't work on my system. I have installed F@H differently so in order to restart it I either restart the custom service I created to start it, or, I have to kill the process in the task manager's details - FAHClient.exe, others will close themselves when they don't see the client anymore. Then I have to open C:\Program Files (x86)\FAHClient\FAHClient.exe

The shortcut doesn't start FAHClient for some reason on my system. Oh, and also I need to manually start C:\Program Files (x86)\FAHClient\FAHControl.exe to open up the advanced control panel.

I also have created a service (via non-sucking service manager, nssm for short), which starts FAHClient on the service start, can close it when you command the service to end, can automatically restart FAHClient if the .exe crashes, can force process priority and core affinity, and will also rotate the log files for me. I start/stop the service in the task manager's Services tab, by just right-clicking it whenever I need to.

previously used nssm when used to mine crypto, cause i didn't like the unnecessary writing of commands and having more console windows opened than I'd like to have.

welp, I've come to the conclusion that 63 oc is my average temperature of my gpu when folding, since that's exactly what it's been every time I've checked in the last few days... and cpu is always somewhere under 40 idc really care too much about that it's usually only at 20 to 40% load anyway, also... i wish i could set all my fans to 5000 rpm lol

although i hop this is just a bug .... my fans aren't rated for that
