Gtx 980 msi gaming 4g and a Corsair gs700

Hello, Im going to buy a better psu to replace the vs550 that I had in my system because is not good enough for my new gtx 980. Is the gs700 a good choice?

you could shoot for a more modern PSU, a CX550 or CX550M does the trick quite nicely.

 

If the GS is for a really good price then it would do.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

I agree with @fasauceome that going with a more modern design will be beneficial in the long run.  Both of his suggestions are well suited for your needs.  Depending on your budget, I can offer other suggestions as well.

Thanks for the advice the price of the gs700 is I'd say ok. I found it for 37$ locally and I can pick it up locally and test it. If anything goes wrong I'll wait a little more and maybe I will buy a new one

Don't buy it. It's a old group regulated design. Get a CX550.
