Asus: Our competitors sucks!!!

NumLock21

Not much to go on, slides from Asus showing how superior their motherboards are compared to their competitors. The competitors are obviously MSI and Gigabyte, where they were not happy about and complain about it. The slides was taken down, but not before it got save and re-uploaded, where it will live forever on the internet.

This isn't the first time Asus has done this. About 12 years ago they did the same type of slides, called their competitors "Xbrand", only to fail at blur out their competitor's logo on the motherboard's heatsink, which clearly says Gigabyte.

It's basic ass covering, though fairly bad ass covering. Don't name who you're claiming to be better than. Just say Brand A/B/C or the competition.

Either ASUS doesn't consider them serious competition, or they can't skew the test in their favor.

Looking at some pretty ridiculous political commercials for elections in the past, I have to wonder if the candidates are simply poking jest at each other in a rather extravagant fashion.

Internal slides? Leaked? Weren't these marketing slides intentionally posted by Asus and then pulled down after the other companies complained?

Internal slides are usually more honest and less marketing... which feels like the opposite of this.

I love how Asus claims their boards are better without the freaking VRM heatsink, pointless testing lol. Maybe Asus should put some of that money into customer support instead of marketing.

Actually, not completely pointless.  This more or less shows efficiency of VRM via lack of heat output.  Sure, adding a heat sink means it can handle more load because it is being cooled, but that doesn't mean it is running better.

Would love to see somebody like GN or buildzoid do a deep dive and actually test the speed claims (higher memory overclock and higher CPU overclock with the same physical sticks and CPU/heatsink.  It would either completely debunk this, or show that quality actually matters.

I *believe* it was marketing slides created by Asus released to press outlet(s) to publish as a news article. AKA Advertorial.

The original article at elcapuzasinformatico (the original source for this) has been pulled down at request of Asus, but here's their follow up article about the matter. It's translated from Spanish, but it appears to me as if elchapuzasinformatico received the slides/information from Asus to publish an article about. Elchapuzasinformatico say they published 'reports' (the slides?) they received from Asus where Asus wanted to show off how good their products are.

Quote

Exactly two days ago, we published, exclusively worldwide, reports from Asus where the company wanted to prove that it was the best option to consider when buying a motherboard thinking about AMD Ryzen 3000 processors. This report came in the form of two extensive PDFs with numerous detailed information relevant to the user.

https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&rurl=translate.google.com.au&sl=auto&sp=nmt4&tl=en&u=https://elchapuzasinformatico.com/2019/07/amd-solicito-la-retirada-del-articulo-de-las-placas-base-ryzen-3000-de-asus-vs-msi-y-gigabyte/&xid=17259,15700023,15700186,15700191,15700256,15700259,15700262,15700265&usg=ALkJrhgIOHkHYjKwL0-KsgUGykVAAExgqQ

@NumLock21 There's no information in your source article, or anywhere else that I can find, that suggests that these were internal slides that were leaked unintentionally. Everything I can find suggests that these were marketing slides intentionally published on behalf of Asus, and then later removed at the request of Asus after they backtracked. Your title and post are misleading.
