My medicine, it costs $6,300 but and my insurance only covers half of it. Thankfully I was almost at my out of pocket maximum for the year so it only ended up costing ~$600 and will be free each month for the rest of the year.

My new PC.

I'm down over $1k so far this year, but a bit over $2k if I include EVERYTHING else that I'm reusing with it (monitor, SSD, peripherals, etc...) and I don't even have a new GPU for it yet... I'm still trying to decide whether or not I should buy the 590 or just wait until another new GPU falls to below the $300 range (In canadian rupees) in like a year...

This year I got the CPU, RAM, Motherboard, CPU Cooler, 1TB SSD, 240GB NVME, Case and PSU. (for a grand total of 1109.10$)

OH and I also bought a used laptop earlier this year for like, 400$, but I'm planning on reselling it soon.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB / RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus / NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 / PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Win 10 Pro

Hmmm, Ive spent a bunch of money this year on things but its been a bunch of stuff thats been like $500 or less, I spent $850 on a Chihuahua, that might be the biggest single purchase so far. If I lump it all together I spent like 3-4K on computer parts, but since I bought my GPU last year I think the biggest single expenditure for parts was maybe my distoplate that was like $450 after exchange and shipping

Check if your insurance plan has a drug deductible. If it doesn't, find one that does. If it has one that's too high, get a lower drug deductible or look at some drug savings plans.

Mine was my house. A little over 4K spent on repairs that I could not do myself.

Haven't had any real large expenses this year .. I guess college tuition was pretty expensive :P

other than that, I got a couple Switch games and some Joycons which do add up on price ..

Probably my mortgage, if you consider the multiple payments a single thing.

Else, it was a new amplifier. I really don't buy a lot of expensive items.

My Asus ZenBook that I bought this month for £529, it came with an i3-8130U and 4GB memory. I bought it as a replacement for my old notebbook, my new ZenBook has a beautiful 1080p IPS display and awesome features like a backlit keyboard and thin and light body. Not to mention the expandability which I took advantage of.

I then later this year bought an 8GB SODIMM for it for £46, which totalled the memory to 12GB, plenty efficient.

I also later decided to give it my old 250GB Samsung 850 EVO from my PC now that my PC uses a 500GB Crucial P1 NVME.

It's been a great machine so far, it's got nice specs after the memory upgrade, the storage upgrade, and now it's running Manjaro Linux.

Definitley my Mcintosh MA9000, £12,995 i payed for it. I need to work out how much ive spent on my new setup so far.

Edit: Working out how much ive spent on it, wish me luck: SME Model 15 turntable - 8,749, SME 309 tonearm - 2,450, Mcintosh MA9000 - 12,995, Power conditioner - 395, 5 NRG-Y3 power cables - 500 pounds, XLR's - 115, RCA's - 600, Speaker cables - 860, Bowers and Wilkins 803 d3's - 9000, Schitt YGGDRASIL DAC - 2200, Slightly nicer than most usb cable - 6, Clearaudio essence MC cartridge - 1,050, Primaluna EVO 400 pre-amp - 4,145, Sennheiser HDV820 headphone amplifier - 2,089, Sennheiser HD800s headphones - 1,400, so 8749 + 2450 + 12995 + 395 + 500 + 115 + 600 + 860 + 9000 + 2200 + 6 + 1,050 + 4,145 + 2,089 + 1400 = £46,574 (still not done, still got about 6 months pay from work to blow on audio)

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

I went for a 2019 Dell G3, which had a solid sale going on.  $1,058 for a 9750H, 16GB, 512GB, 1660Ti and a 144hz panel.  It outmoded my previous mobile driver, a 2013-era Alienware 17" clunker.  4770H, 16GB, 1TB SSD, and a GTX 770M.  Dead battery, dying GPU, motherboard brought back to life by re-soldering some components and replacing others.

Moved the 1TB SSD into the G3's open, and pleasantly surprised to find, equipped 2.5" drive bay.

Sure, it's not a balls to the wall machine, but as a mobile daily driver, it will do it's job just fine.  It's my secondary machine behind an X99 platform desktop with a pair of 1080s in it.

Desktop#2: CPU: i5 2500k Mobo: ASUS P67 TUF RAM: 8GB DDR3 GPU: GTX 1060 6GB Storage: some 256GB SSD Case: Something I pulled form a scrapper pile PSU: Antec Earthwatts 500 watt PSU.

depends on how you define expensive.

as in pure price over all ? then probably car insurance :D or does that not count? then probably the suit i bought for my cousins wedding next month.

but if were talking about expensive for what something is or in other words - overpriced then definitly the 9 € sata cabel i just recently bought 4 of.

This year, so far, my yard.  Fence, trees, bushes, landscaping.  10k so far...

Although ask me again in a few months when the baby arrives and I have a feeling it'll cost me more than my landscaping.  ?
