PETG vs PMMA?

Hey guys!

Simple question: What's the difference between PETG and PMMA Hardline tubing?

Apart form PETG beeing "easier" to work with?

Lifetime? Color? Stains?

There has to be a reason PMMA exists, if PETG is easier to work with, right?

:)

PMMA (acrylic) was out before PETG. PETG tends to cloud easier than acrylic as well since it is softer, depending on the coolant you use.

PETG is a softer but tougher plastic that isn't brittle when subjected to impact compare to acrylic. As said it lacks the clarity as acrylic and does require compatible coolant that is not glycol based. Most people choose PETG as it's the common choice now but as a material it's chemical resistance and quality isn't the same as acrylic.

PETG is easier to bend but can react with certain watercooling fluids.

When in doubt, just use glass tubing with fittings for bends :P Beats both.

I totally agree. You could bend glass as well, but it requieres lots of heat and skill.
