Reddit Desktop Web Major Outage (Fixed)

Tamesh16

So i noticed it was down around 4 am EDT, i asked around the discord and nobody else seemed to have the problem,

however ever since there has been a peak of over 3000 reports on downdetector

mostly from the east coast of the US and Europe.

However the old Reddit seems to work just fine old.reddit.com

There has been no particular news, just some small articles with not much other than restating that 503 errors were seen.

On my side, it started with errors to load any posts, to 503 errors and currently to the picture below.

Since no Articles with any helpful information havent been posted , i refrained from posting in the Tech News Sub Forum

title and topic contents edited to suite situation as reddit responds with more details

EDIT

https://reddit.statuspage.io/incidents/hjm36hq8g8q6

Reddit states they are investigating into the issue - 10:36 am EDT

EDIT

"A fix has been implemented and we are monitoring the results" - 10:57 am EDT

EDIT

Reddit states

"This incident has been resolved."- 11:03 am EDT

Personally cant access the site as yet, some people have seen improvement, hopefully will be back online for everyone soon

EDIT

The problem was Investigated again at 11:37 am EDT

and resolved two hours later at  1:43 am EDT

The page loads for me but none of the posts do so it looks like a server issue. I was originally thinking DNS but the main page loads, just not any of the content.

Looks like specific data centers are having issues them or it could be a load balancing issue.

Well some people are definitely affected, unsure the exact cause or who is affected, just going off of the reports from down detector, so far reddit hasn't said anything about the situation, so i opened it up for discussion, incase anyone knew more
