Are you serious? My i7-3820 oc @5.0GHz is bottlenecking my 1070Ti in Battlefield 1 and I am getting around 120fps but I have 144hz monitor and I will be upgrading to i7-3930K soon. And btw that is on 1440p

Both your CPU and GPU are more powerful than what he has, so of course even with a bottle neck you will get 120fps. @huhuhahaTi a g5400 will not be able to give you 120fps, even with a 2060. It would be smarter by getting a cheaper GPU (Vega 56 used) and getting a better CPU, (Ryzen 5 1600/ Ryzen 7 1700), of better yet, wait till ryzen 3000

I lurk

HP Spectre x360 13t late 2019
Core i5 1035g4
8gb ram
256GB NVME SSD
HP 24mh FHD Monitor

OnePlus 5
Jabra evolve 75
Razer Blackwidow Lite

Steelseries Rival 3

2060 is pretty close to 1070Ti and in some games even faster so the CPU is the main difference. But it will run flawlessly on the desktop

It'll get nowhere near 100fps.

There's no point buying an RTX 2060 as your CPU just isn't powerful enough for it. You'd be better off upgrading to a Ryzen system (either Ryzen 5 1600, Ryzen 5 2600 or the new Ryzen 5 3600 which will be released on 7th July), if you need a GPU then you can always buy a used 750 Ti/1050 Ti/RX 470.

Or a core CPU that he won’t have to rip his system to pieces to use

Any 9th gen chip so 8th would work fine too. A 9500 would be a solid upgrade or even a 9400F. 150~ for 6 cores.

I’ve literally just bought a 2600 btw. It’s just tanked in price and I don’t need 3000 series for 1080p gaming on a vega 56
