What makes you tick? Laptops/Tablets Debate

I need your help and feedback on this guys! ?

I'm doing a study for a project based on what people like/dislike, what they think are pros/cons, and what they want in a laptop or not want in a tablet. So, what makes you cringe or excited when it comes to laptops and tablets? It can be anything from design to hardware, brand to portability, etc.

Link any other information that you think might be helpful as well.

And... GO!

If only my friend, if only...

The LG Gram 13.3 is just under 3.6lbs (It's 2.13 lbs to be precise)

So you prefer smaller laptops?

Battery life

Battery life

Battery life

Weight/portability

Can it run 1080p videos?

Can it run Skyrim at 720p low?

Can I add more RAM?

Can I add an SSD (if one's not in there already)

Is it by a good brand? (no Dell, probably no HP, maybe no ASUS, no Chinese garbage, no fruit)

Can the CPU handle some basic games, Skyrim being the heaviest one, and not die the second I try to open a second Excel spreadsheet? Potatoes like the Pentium Silver (aka the Atom), the Celeron and the A4, A6 and A9 need not apply.

Also, battery life.

Chromebooks need not apply. I converted my ThinkPad X61t into one a while back, and on the exceptionally rare occasion that I want access to Chrome OS, that has me covered.

What I look for in a laptop:

1. Good battery life (preferably 8hrs+ but 6hrs will suffice)

2. USB-A ports, an SD card reader and a DVD drive

3. Upgradability (ability to upgrade CPU, RAM, SSD/HDD)

4. Good build quality

5. Affordable price (under £850)

6. Enough power for 1080p gaming

7. Good thermal performance (preferably under 75c when at full load)

8. CPU with at least 4 cores

A laptop doesn't necessarily have to match all 8 of the above 'requirements' but the more 'requirements' it does match, the more I'd consider buying it.

The awful trackpad and keyboard, I don't use laptops, but when I do the trackpad frustrates me, like shit, Steam made a better trackpad than anything else i've tried on laptops (Steam controller), and it only costs 50 god damn dollars for the whole thing, and not to mention the very satisfying haptic feedback and extensive customizability, Keyboards are also frustrating but I understand that "i'll get used to it", but i'm just saying, at least stick to a standard

(and no I won't/can't use a mouse because the only times i've used laptops is when i wanted to do something using other people's laptops and i had no ability or surface to use a mouse)

Other than that I don't care much, If i ever buy a laptop (likely not) i'm not gonna be gaming on it, just a solid construction and good/great battery life

Good enough battery life to last a day

Man, I remember when we were all stoked about laptops cracking the 90-minute barrier.
