Cheapest CPU that can achieve 5GHZ all cores| EDIT: available first hand

I am not talking about getting lucky with the silicon lottery but a CPU that can achieve 5GHz in 9/10 cases!

I'd argue for the FX 9590 as the cheapest 5ghz cpu? Still capable even now, despite what the haters say. I'm still using it for another month or two in my current build, it's been a very good 2 years with the fire-breathing monster :)

That is kinda amazing if you think about it but I was more like asking about something I can find first hand!

The FX series comes to mind.

FX 9590 for example, it has 5ghz boost clock out of the box.

These cpus had terrible IPC, but because of that they had ridiculus clockspeeds for the time.

i3-7350K can consistently overclock beyond 5 GHz

But at $159 new on Amazon now, the chip itself is cheap but still a bad value. And you need a Z170 or Z270 to overclock it.

Plus, a dual-core in 2019, seems legit.

@schwellmo92 @MeatFeastMan If possible to be available first hand.

Cheap and "first-hand" don't go together very well.

If you want something you can buy at the store right now, then the i7 8086k, but it is much more expensive than the FX.

@Origami Cactus By cheapest I don't mean budget friendly. Even if it's 1k if it's the cheapest that is what I am asking for. Anyway, just checked the 8086k is almost as expensive as a 9900k so it's not an option for me.

How come?

EDIT:

i3 8350K/9350K is basically an i5 7600k but with higher propabiblity of better overclocks. Those are much better value than i3 7350K, which is two cores only. My 8350K did hit 5 GHz.

Secondary rig: R5 3600 // MSI B450i Gaming Plus // 16GB Gskill FlareX 3200CL14 // MSI GTX 1080ti Gaming X // Cooler Master V650 // Fractal Meshify C

Well my local amazon still sells the 9590, so you could still look for it. Otherwise you can try the overclockable i3, but it isn't garantiid to hit 5ghz.

@chckovsky Checked every place I buy parts from and it's either unavailable anymore or less than 50 euro difference in only 2 shops that have it in low quantities. I guess they are trying to clear inventory.

Do you only care about 5GHz because of bragging rights? What are your use cases?

I mean an i5 8600K/9600K is probably an even better choice than the i3s I've mentioned above. It may take some powerful cooling (large heatsink/240mm AIO) to get it to 5GHz though

@chckovsky In this case only gaming. The only other thing that matters is to have 4 cores which all of the already suggested cpus do except one so I didn't care to mention it, also as @SkyHound0202, who suggested the only one which doesn't have 4 or more cores, no one would really buy a cpu that doesn't have at least 4 anyway.

In your OP it only says 5GHz, nothing about cores. Can't blame a wrong answer if the question isn't right.

But IMO, for modern games you need 4 cores with hyperthreading or 6 or more cores. 8600K is probably a much better gaming cpu than 8350K/9350K, even if it doesn't quite hit 5GHz.

Whats wrong with a 9900K then for gaming? Pair it with beefy cooler like a Corsair H110i or NZXT x62, and it'll overclock pretty well.

Money no object that is still the best gaming processor currently.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600  Heatsink: ID-Cooling Frostflow X GPU: Zotac GTX 1060 Mini 6GB RAM: KLEVV Bolt 3600Mhz (2x8GB) Mobo: ASUS B550-F ROG Strix (Wifi)  Case: Fractal Design Meshify C PSU: Deepcool DQ-M-V2L

If you are looking into gaming then 5ghz IS NOT THE ANSWER, you need IPC too.

Your OP was pretty poorly worded because of it.

If you had asked for a gaming cpu, you would have gotten gaming cpus.

9590 IS not a gaming cpu, even thought it is 5ghz out of the box.

If you want a gaming cpu get a i5 9600k / i5 9900k,   or for cheaper get 8600k or 8700k.

I only see your reply if you @ me.
