Uhm... it depends? What are you trying to accomplish? Are you using the Xonar Phoebus as an amp, with the Phoebus connected to speakers or headphones?

 

If you're using a proper home theatre setup with an Amp that supports HDMI passthrough, then that is by far your best choice, since the HDMI passthrough will allow HD Audio output from that blu-ray player.

 

The Pheobus won't be able to play any HD Audio streams from the blu-ray player, as Optical/SPDIF/Toslink doesn't have enough bandwidth to output it. The most they can do is standard DTS 5.1 or 7.1 NON HD, NON MA, NON Lossless audio.

 

So yeah, can you give more information about:

 

1. Your existing setup

2. Any new equipment you are thinking of purchasing

3. What your purpose is/intention/what you are trying to accomplish
