The struggle of building a gaming PC in Greece

Hello guys!

This is my first time posting here and I would like to know your opinion about two builds I currently have in mind. My budget is around 1000E and so are the costs of these builds I'm posting (talking about Greek shops)

The second build is 100 euros cheaper and that's kinda important for me right now! So  specifically I would like to know if there is a huge difference between these two motherboards for the Ryzen 7 2700 CPU + GTX 1660 Ti gaming combo (not planning to overclock any time soon btw), if these computer cases have a big difference for a good gaming pc and finally if a 550Watt PSU will be enough for this kind of build.

Unfortunately my choices are limited because these shops definitely lack variety in items.

I look forward to your replies! (hopefully you are better at English than I am :P)

EDIT: Waiting for the new Ryzen CPUS is a nono mainly because the cost will greatly differ and I need this pc really soon!

Usually X470 has better VRMs (Power delivery for CPU), so overclocking can be more stable, as well as a few more native USB 3.1 ports.

Honestly though, between those two boards, I'd pick the gigabyte board. I've not seen a single build with that motherboard fail and it's rated as well or better then the Asus prime (depending on where you look.)

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

MSI B450 Tomahawk is a good step up from the more budget ASRock Pro4. Probably my go-to board for those Ryzen builds with a bigger budget to spend on

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600  Heatsink: ID-Cooling Frostflow X GPU: Zotac GTX 1060 Mini 6GB RAM: KLEVV Bolt 3600Mhz (2x8GB) Mobo: ASUS B550-F ROG Strix (Wifi)  Case: Fractal Design Meshify C PSU: Deepcool DQ-M-V2L

@Stormseeker9, @BigRom

Alright thanks guys! I'm hyped!

Should I be worried about the Corsair 550W PSU?

Here is a list of available psus

- Thermaltake Smart RGB 700W (PS-SPR-0700NHSAWE-1) (is that one actually good? I've read different opinions)

- Corsair CX Series CX550 (CP-9020121-EU)

- Corsair CX Series 550M (CP-9020102-EU)

- Seasonic M12II-520 EVO Edition (SS-520GM2)

- Corsair CX Series 650M (CP-9020103-EU)

- Corsair TX-M Series 550W (CP-9020133-EU)

And then some more expensive seasonic psus.

I think you will do fine with a Ryzen 5 2600 rather than the Ryzen 7 2700. Later you can overclock it if you desire.

Here you can try out different combinations:

It's not perfect, but I think it gets you in the ballpark.

‘Rough’ one.

but if he only wants to push 1080p which the 1660Ti is perfect for he could opt for 2600, but I’d rather go for the 2700. 2/4 C/T extra and overall better performance, and will last you longer in the long run imo

I don't know. I'm still not convinced. It just doesn't seem like the extra $100 is getting him much, especially when he stated the importance of his budget.  He can put that $100 toward a Ryzen 3000 (or 4000) chip or better GPU in the future.

Considering 2 things.

1. OP said don’t wait on zen 2

2. He is located in greece

being in Greece can  make things expensive, more than let’s say W Europe.

also, if this is his budget and he needs it now and he can fit a 2700 in instead of 2600 I recommend it.

he has 2 cores and 4 more threads which will help in the long run. I assume OP can’t update every 2 years considering budget + Greece their economy.

I mean, I would suggest waiting buying the 2700 until 3xxxx gets launched (7/7/19) purely for prices to drop.

Did you get the psu yet? If not, better go for a be quiet straight power 550 although it's a bit more expensive.
