F@H and BOINC Badge Request Thread [Last Update: 2024-MAR-21]

Message added by TVwazhere

Note that for F@H and BOINC, the points that you've earned must be for the LTT team. For example: If you have 20 million points for the default F@H team and 5 million points for LTT, we cannot award you a Bronze Contributor badge. Additionally, badges supersede each other meaning when you hit 25 million points, your Contributor Badge becomes a Bronze Badge, you only get one and they do not stack on your profile. Badges for different disciplines such as Folding, BOINC, and Event participations will show your highest rank in each category.

Posts requesting badges will be hidden when the badge is assigned. Check your profile to see if you have the badge before reposting.

That's all you need to do ;)
Contribute to the LTT folding team, and when you hit the badge requirements (shown on Page 1) just post in this thread with your folding link and we'll update your badge.

You're very close to the Bronze badge requirement, if you keep folding at current rate you should have it by tomorrow. I've done your F@H Contributor badge but I'll leave your post up and I'll check tomorrow to see if you are eligible to be upgraded to the Bronze badge.

So I just found out that there are badges for folding! I took part in the event last year and did just over 290 WU and a little under 5M points in that event. (just hit 5M prepping for the next one)  Do I qualify for any badgers?

https://stats.foldingathome.org/donor/azmariadei

if you participated in the event last year, you should have signed up for it on the forum i'm afraid.

if you qualified for a badge that year you really already should have been awarded one. if you didn't get one, you most probably didn;t meet the requirements :(

you should be eligable for the level 2 folding badge though!

I'm trying to sign up for it in the forum right now right here. I'm just really oblivious and didn't know about them until yesterday. I rarely visit forums anymore except for this sort of thing.

Also I would like to mention I have no idea how to connect the control folding at home client using the advanced control. I also don't know how to use the bionic website to let it know what team I'm on. It just says team blank and when I click edit it let's me change everything but the team part. Was that because I didn't enter in a URL? I wasn't sure what URL it wanted

For Advanced control, you should have a folding icon in your Windows tray, you can right click on it and select advanced control.

yes I'm aware of  that, but what I meant was the extent of my knowledge is how to adjust the folding power from light to full, how to pause and fold. Beyond that I'm not really sure what to do with preferences and configure settings or how to set up multiple clients or even if I should and what benefits would I get for doing so. There's still so much I don't understand

For general purpose questions, the Folding Community board is a good place to ask questions.

Specifically for setting up multiple clients that can be viewed by a main system, @Gorgon has a few different setup guides. I personally used this one:

Is it correct that there (no longer) are no badges for bronze, silver and gold contributors for F@H?

These badges are still being awarded to those who meet the requirements. Where did you hear otherwise?

Can't see the badges in the first post, Just the first and the last badge is visible and I haven't (can't) see them on the profiles.

Found the problem, uBlock Origin blocked a line containing a part of the URL for those three badges..... (Blocking those pesky GIF-avatars)   ? What are the odds ?

As GPUs get better and get more points, it would be nice if this kind of award excited. Current middle tier GPUs get are making same as top tier GPUs made in previous generation.

Edit:

Currently there are 7 people who have over 1 billion points, if current rates keep up estimates show that after year that number is 20.

Floatplane badges have been discontinued, as the Floatplane site is moving to https://www.floatplane.com

Participating in each event gives you the badges in sequence. Participating in a single event gets you the Folding Event Newbie, Participating in 3 gets you the Veteran, and Participating in 5 gets you the Fanatic. Currently LTT folding Month 2019 is the second official Folding event held, so it's impossible for anyone currently to have the Veteran. The Event founding badges are for those who were at the very first Folding Event in November 2018.
