F@H and BOINC Badge Request Thread [Last Update: 2024-MAR-21]

Message added by TVwazhere

Note that for F@H and BOINC, the points that you've earned must be for the LTT team. For example: If you have 20 million points for the default F@H team and 5 million points for LTT, we cannot award you a Bronze Contributor badge. Additionally, badges supersede each other meaning when you hit 25 million points, your Contributor Badge becomes a Bronze Badge, you only get one and they do not stack on your profile. Badges for different disciplines such as Folding, BOINC, and Event participations will show your highest rank in each category.

Posts requesting badges will be hidden when the badge is assigned. Check your profile to see if you have the badge before reposting.

Today I come before you humbly requesting that my contributions may be considered for the final Mythic Diamond Contributor badge. It has taken me 485 days across 18,743 work units folding for LTT.COM to achieve 2,503,564,327 points as of 9AM PDT 7/17/2021. To meet this goal I started with a single RTX 2080, then bumped that to two, then added a 3090, then removed the two 2080’s and put in a second 3090. I have given this power and time freely and of my own volition with no expectation of compensation, and nothing more than a vague hope that none of the research ever directly benefits me.

I am aware that I functionally have used top fuel drag cars to rip through an endurance race. And I am aware that most people are unable to provide that type of folding power, and that many more people have contributed more, faster, and longer than I have. My goals are to bring attention and focus on the effort, not to claim to be best or most important or anything of that nature. This is a team effort and I believe in marching towards the goals as a team.

Towards that end I will be doing a promotional give away soon and be writing up some details on Reddit, Facebook, and Instagram next week talking about this process in an effort to drive more people into joining the effort. I will also be doing a give away specific to this LTT community as well, as you have been very helpful and motivating. This badge, if I am awarded it, will be used as a talking point on the importance of having a goal to work towards. In the picture I am using unicorn puke lighting mode since we might as well celebrate like a birthday.

Thank you for your consideration, moderators of LTT.COM F@H/Bionic.

Pezui, (Tim)

Also I have participated in 2 Folding@Home events here for the LTT Forum. I don't know if that means anything for badges but I have done 2 folding events.

Currently you do have a badge for the Official Folding Event for 2020, however it does not appear you have participated in any other Eligible event (Eligible events happen once a year, around the same time in Oct-Nov) Many smaller events happen periodically through the year (including the one that's about to conclude today) but these events are NOT eligible for F@H event badges ands Badge advancements.

Quote

F@H Event Badge Thresholds

These are special badges handed out for participating in the official Folding events organized by the Folding community. These badges will be handed out automatically after the events to eligible participants (subject to individual event guidelines and requirements).

  • image.png.0acc24e952a5bf918454e0683f36848d.pngEvent Founder - A unique badge only available to those who participated in the first event. ** This Badge is no longer available for distribution **
  • image.png.a6ea9cbf8a75f5a11073fc709db607d7.pngEvent Newbie - For participating in at least 1 Folding event.
  • image.png.c55b2b302c2de6f7a76982598b8e0012.pngEvent Veteran - For participating in at least 3 Folding events.
  • image.png.bfba76cdb672bed6e15393e1451c8483.pngEvent Fanatic - For participating in at least 5 Folding events.

Below is the list of Official Folding Events that have counted toward the Folding Event badges. To be an Official Folding Event, they must specifically be endorsed by LMG, so Folding Events like the Summer Sprint of 2019 do not count towards obtaining these badges. Additionally, on top of folding and meeting the minimum requirements for the event, you must make sure you sign up specifically to be tracked for the event; we do not track every LTT user who was folding at the time of the event (this has caused a lot of confusion in the past).

@TVwazhere In addition to my F@h badge, I'd also like to request my BOINC badge. I'm not certain that I've set it up correctly though - can you verify for me? Here's what I see on my end:

What website is this? I usually use Boincstats to verify since it's the.... least confusing BOINC point layout, and it's not showing the same amount of points

It's the World Community Grid stats page. I don't know much about BOINC, so sorry if I'm a bit confused here. To me it looks like the point total on Boincstats is a bit behind the total on WCG.

I'd suggest registering for a BOINCstats account.

Signing Up for Projects via BAM! / BOINCstats

  1. Register for and log in to your account on BOINCstats.
    • I'd strongly suggest using the same email address you used to sign up for WCG, it'd help with the syncing process.
  2. Select the Sign-Up for Projects tab.
    • If you haven't signed up for any BOINC projects, click on "» Sign-Up" on the far right of the table, and check the "Create Account" option. Hit "Save".
    • If you've already signed up for a BOINC project, find your project in the list, click on the "» Sign-Up" on the far right of the table, and check the "Find Account" option. Hit "Save".
    • You can check whether a project has been added to your BOINCstats account in the Projects tab.
    • I'd suggest assigning a Team to the project in BAM! / BOINCstats, for your credits to count towards a forum badge.

@Eschew Thanks for the info. I joined BOINCstats, but I can't seem to add the project to the LTT team. Is this because I had previously added it to the team through the WCG page? When I'm on that site I can see all the team info, as well as the option to quit the team, which leads me to believe I'm joined somehow.

@TVwazhere I guess I just need to wait and see if the information gets updated? I don't know how long it should take.

F@H Event badges are calculated separately from FAH Point badges. Event badges are awarded automatically based on eligibility and participation at the end of the Events, so no need to request them 🙂

Event Badges for the 2021 Folding@Home event have been issued to eligible recipients. If you believe you met the minimum requirements and are eligible for a badge but didn't receive one please contact Spotty or myself. If you were eligible you should be listed here, but if that isn't the case and you think there may be an error please contact us and/or @GOTSpectrum

(yes I was too lazy to retype what Spotty Wrote)
