So, when do we get crepe making hot surfaces from gourmet cooling?  Hungry minds want to know!

That would be an interesting project. Water cooling, where instead of a radiator, the water runs through a pipe just below a metal surface, preferably copper. Maybe not crepe temperatures, but some confectionery experiments might be in order.

You could use a peltier set up to help increase the surface temps

Good news, I got the weird Tesla P4's working in F@H. Unknown if I will still have access to them come event start though.

image.png.8da95641ec6a997175f7431abbd1a0c5.png

Tesla P4's are like GTX 1080's but with GTX 1060 & GTX 1050 elements as well, power limited to PCIe slot only so ~75W. CUDA core config is 2560 (1080), memory bandwidth is 192GB/s (1060), TDP 75W (1050).

Anyone know the PPD of each of those 3 cards? Interesting to compare against the P4 since it's such an odd card.

Each one is currently estimating between 320,000 to 430,000 so much like a GTX 1060 I guess.

I can probably cook eggs by putting a cast iron skillet on the ground outside here.  Or, the hood of my truck.

You won't be doing that here. I've just been hit by a bit of a cold snap with some good winds to go with it that cut right to the bone. You'd be able to refrigerate those eggs though.

Australian, cold snap... so like 15C? ?

Good time of year for us though, need all the heat generation we can get.

Depends on what part of Australia you're talking about but for day time temps in Brisbane, that's the high at the moment. It's suppose to get down to 8C tonight.

Interesting, under Linux that 96 core server is estimating around 930,000 PPD. So 1 CPU core is like 1/96th of a good GPU.

Yes, my numbers, and lack of supported GPUs, always reflected this, and is why I generally don't bother much anymore except during events.  Even when I've got all the systems going with full core counts, one of you multi-gpu guys beat my entire production of the winter contest in one evening.
