Apple accused of selling user data

Jesus fucking christ, look at the comments on that article. It's fucking pathetic the lengths people go to defend Apple. The term sheeple is real for a very evident reason.

Wow, what a surprise.

Imagine being a large company that has millions of mindless followers just waiting to be exploited. Of course they will sell your data, they all do it, even the ones who pretend to be holier than thou. There's no such thing as privacy these days.

It's my belief that everyone has been brainwashed by the "you have nothing to hide if you've done nothing wrong" mentality. Time to end it since it affects everyone that does want privacy and their constitutional rights.

Thats not brainwashing. Its completely mature rational thought.

Its the criminals and mentally deranged that are brainwashing people into thinking that they require or deserve privacy everywhere and with everything they do.

No, it isn't. There needs to be much clearer terms available. Nothing hidden behind a EULA (they are not legally binding) and nothing that they can circumvent.

No, far from it. The notion of "if you did nothing wrong, you have nothing to hide" is a core aspect of fascism (and real world outcomes of socialism and communism), that enables goverments to criminalize any ideology at will, any populous at will, any action at will.

If you have nothing to fear, you have no reason to look, either. And taking the tyrannical stance of anyone can do something deemed bad (such as being gay, Jewish, protestant, libritarian, of questioning the a single action of the tyrannical party), therefore everyone is subject to random search and siezure at the drop of a hat, is simply rapid paranoia; It's also indicative that the person(s) holding these views are guilty of either that or actual, legitimate atrocity.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

So literally the only single redeeming factor left in choosing to use apple products was a giant sham perpetuated by lies and bullshit.

Why am I not surprised?

What does windows 10 and ET have in common?

They are both constantly trying to phone home.

According to the unproven allegations, yes.

But, it's important to remain skeptical until concrete evidence is produced. If Apple is proven to be doing this, be my guest and roll on over them.

As determined by whom exactly?

A corrupt judicial system that allows never ending appeals to drag out into oblivion based on the size of ones bank roll?

I'll stick to my own conclusions.

I'll stick to what I gather personally rather then put blind faith in a broken system to determine the out come of a corporation that's been trending down hill for several years now.

I get we all have different opinions on certain things, but the biggest reason places like facebook are a chamber of misinformation is simply because most people don't think critically.   Same here, when someone's personal opinion is questioned with logic and reason,  they resort to pointing the finger at a corrupt system, a dodgy company or even go as far to bend reality and invent new conclusions for well old conditions.  All that instead of just accepting we don't have all the information.

Or in this case, they just make it a personal attack.

Strong argument.

You've personally researched the validity of the complaint and the data behind it? If not, then you're just drawing a conclusion that is far less reliable than the potentially biased conclusion the courts come up with.

The system doesn’t allow never ending appeals. Actually there’s a very specific (and linear) appeal system in the US.

They tend to drag on for years simply because the courts are overtaxed and a single case can take more than a year to get through.

That doesn’t make the system corrupt.

And no offense, but I trust the courts more than random people on LTT forums.

But, may I ask, what evidence do you base your conclusion on?

Mind numbing that you continue to keep crawling back with double standards, certainly...

Your inability to quantify repeating trends doesn't equate to my opinion being comparable to a clusterfuck echo chamber like facebook that I've never registered an account on but I guess today is the day that you finally get to draw that conclusion. Congrats, I'm sure you've been holding onto that for the entire month since I last logged in.

Yeah, because every news story is fiction. All news should cease to exist until it's exhaustively researched via extensive third party audit while the courts take a decade to figure it out. Despite in most cases awarding in favor of whichever side has the ability to fund continued efforts and ignoring the massive amount of lobbying big corporations take part in to buy the decision of government officials.

If you are going to take a microscope to everything you read on the internet in the most literal sense possible then there's not much more to be said.

I only question why you bother to spend any time on the internet at all.

But a very large number of commenters are simply assuming they're guilty without seeing all the evidence (from both sides).

So people blindly defending them are just as bad as those who blindly accept that they did it.
