Faulty PCI-e slot?

GusmaoBR

Hello guys!

My PC is an ITX assembed on the Silverstone RVZ02 case which has a separate compartment for the graphics card and uses two PCI-e adapters (one "right" angle" and another "extension" cards) to route the PCI-e socket to the GPU compartment. Some wrrks ago my GTX 980 started presenting some problems like freezing and not turning one most times. I took the computer to a technician and he tested another graphics card and had the same results, saying the problem could be on either one of the adapters or the PCI-e slot itself, but since the case requires the riser cards to access the slot he couldn't tell me whose fault it was.

I was able to find right angle adapters on Amazon but I can't seem to find the extension one, although I was able to find a 5cm PCI-e extension ribbon cable that would simplify the equation. My question is if anyone has used this kind of solution and if the problem is in either adapter (not the slot itself) has the graphics card stood firmly when held to the case only by the screws?

Thanks

Un-plug and re-plug in all your PCI-E riser cables. If that doesn't fix it, contact Silverstone and say you believe you have a faulty riser. They should send you a new one.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)
