i7-4790K + Z97 Maximus for 200 EU / $223?

Hey, found a used 4790K + ASUS Z97 Maximus VII Hero for 200 euro or 223 USD. Used for 4,5 years for workstation (CAD). Never overclocked, delidded or toyed with. Seller sent pics of speccy & BIOS, and everything is working. Should I pull the trigger?

EDIT: What I meant to ask is: Good price?

Main:  1650 v2   @ 4,6GHz   -   X79 Deluxe                -   GTX 1080 @ 2000MHz   -   24GB DDR3 @ 2400MHz / CL10

Side:   i7-4790K @ 4,5GHz   -   Maximus 7 Hero        -   GTX 1070 @ 2114MHz    -  16GB DDR3 @ 2666MHz / CL12

Are you able to haggle down to 180?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

Doubt it. He seems very firm about 200 Euro as a minimum.

Depending on the use case, you can build a superior system for less, a Ryzen 5 1600 and a good B450 board comes in at more affordable with 2 more cores, but if you want the 4790k for gaming performance then it is better. If he won't go lower, the price is good but not amazing.

Forgot to mention that I don't want to buy new. Besides, I got a lot of extra DDR3.

€200 is what the chip along usually goes for where I'm at, so a decent deal

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Thanks for the input. Ended up buying both for 195 EU :D

Ryzen 1600 or 2600 + ASROCK B450 Board is around the same Price.

Those are new and with Warranty.

 

But no, that's not a good price. For such old Hardware its really really expensive.

Guess you didn't read the part where I said I'm not interested in new parts + I got confirmation of working status of hardware + I have a lot of extra DDR3 laying around, and would have to buy DDR4 if I bought new.

So you'd pay more for used parts than for better, new parts?
You have to look at what you can get new and put that in relation to the used stuff...

 

Especially in recent years the used prices for some things have been totally insane.

For example 150€ or more for a normal Standard Board for a certain socket....

The Gigabyte X79-UD5 I got was also working. And worked when it arrived. But died on the same day.

And no warranty for that.

Was part of an LGA2011 bundle with an i7-3820. 

The CPU got replaced by Intel at the time but is rather worthless. IIRC around 100€ or so at the time.

Remember that the system I mentioned has 6 Cores with SMT. 
CPU, if you're lucky, can be purchased for 100€. Right now its 122€ (1600X would be one or two € more).

ASROCK B450 PRO4 is around 80€

 

But, as said, that's 6 Cores.

Somethinc closer to the one you bought, would be Ryzen 5/1400 for around 100€ (wich makes little sense as the 6 Core is not much more). The 1200 for 60€ doesn't come with SMT enabled, so is more comparable to Haswell i5, neither is 2200G or 1300X.

 

Yes DDR-4 might be a disadvantage. But the Prices are coming down. A Stick of DDR4-2666 is only 35€ right now. 

 

Remember that the Bundle is ~5 Years old and still cost the same as modern stuff.

It should be far far cheaper...
