Best CPU for Office 365 & Web

Hello,

 

I'm going to be upgrading 5-7 business computers this year.

These computers will only be used for Office 365 and web browsing.

Right now, the majority of them are running 3rd gen i3's, 8GB memory and Win7.

These new machines will be running Win10, and I'm open to AMD or Intel.

 

What are your CPU suggestions?

Also, I don't have a budget.

good enough imo, add SSDs instead

The absolute max I could imagine for an office PC is a Ryzen 3 2200G, true quad core with integrated graphics. If you really need an upgrade to AM4 so that you can do a drop in later for better CPU horsepower, an Athlon 200GE is a great idea.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

Get SSDs for you current rigs.

 

I have several computers here in the office running Office 2016 and Windows 10.  Specifically on Dell Optiplex 3010s (i3-3240 + 2x4GB RAM + 250GB SATA HDD) and they're a bit clunky with browsing and using Office 2016.

IMHO an SSD upgrade should give it a boost in performance.

CPU: Sempron 2500+ / P4 2.8E / P4 2.6C / A64 x2 4000+ / E6420 / E8500 / i5-3470 / i7-3770
GPU: TNT2 M64 / Radeon 9000 / MX 440-SE / 7300GT / Radeon 4670 / GTS 250 / Radeon 7950 / 660 Ti
