Google hit with €1.5bn fine from EU over advertising

Bravo1cc

This seems of interest considering most the current issues with Article 51. Make what you will of this but i think the EU could be a little biased after this fine.

Bi est? Like they take the sides of bisexual people? Or biased? ?

Seems like everyone wants a piece of Google these days. I don't exactly agree with everything they do, but it feels like everyone just wants some of their money.

I mean, if google is breaking EU laws on advertising I guess it's justified?

Not much of a politics reader or law maker.

Welcome to r/BoneAppleTea :P

I'm willing to bet that google doesn't really care, they probably made more money off of the ads than they have to pay back now...

75% of what I say is sarcastic

So is the rest probably

Well, after reading the article it seems like their adsense contracts are pretty BS and basically prevent anyone from putting up a competitor's ad on your site, or if you do, google gets to decide how its displayed. Pretty damn shady.

To be fair though, and that guy, google is just the better search engine anyways. Maybe if you want yours to get popular you should try not making it shit? Google still has the cleanest search engine interface. Nothing but a plain white page with their name(usually in fancy dress for special occassions) and a text box. Not all this crap cluttering your screen like yahoo, etc with news about which celebrity is shagging who or what stupid crap x world leader has done now.
