PIAs prices are going up, what's a good alternative?

Today I got an email from PIA about their pretty hefty price rises coming soon. I am happy with the job PIA does and let it off not working with Netflix etc because it was cheap, however the new prices make it more expensive than the likes of Nord VPN.

 

So what's a good alternative that has nice Android apps, can be side loaded onto FireTVs, has good OpenVPN configurations available, works with Netflix, and is cheaper than PIA (their cheapest option is 2 years and works out at $3.49 a month).

Making your own. It's cheaper, more secure, and is a lot more flexible. You have control of everything so you can install and tweak how you want. Right now I pay $20/year for 1TB/month datacap, 1gigabit/s connection speed, 20Gbs of SSD storage, and it's powerful enough to run a pihole plus VPN on top with 14 concurrent users

Just keeping this here as a I'm with @BuckGup on this one you can do it much cheaper without a provider and you don't have to have any risk of someone logging your usage.

It gets logged anyway by the isp at the other end as well as the browser you use and every website you visit.

I’d recommend ExpressVPN. Works with Netflix, and in China etc.

I asked kind of the same question and got lots of good advises. You can check the topic here. I'm using Surfshark it goes as low as 1.99$/MO for a two year plan. Has an Android app and I googled if they work with FireTV, according to their webpage it does, I haven't tried personally though. Overall I'm happy with the service.
