Internet really slow all of a sudden on PC

renchy_is_sketchy

I was usually peaking out at 2.5MB/s (go ahead and laugh) on steam downloads , but recently my peak has dropped to 1.5 , but the download speed is about 600KB/s , the new R6S update has taken about 12 hours to download 12/37gb.

This is really painful knowing that if it would be at 2.5 like before , it wouldve been done already. My chrome browsing also seems really slow , it usually took 1 second to open any webpage , but now youtube and linustechtips take about 4-5 seconds to fully load. I do not have ethernet connected , and ive never had it connected because the tv and android box require the ethernet cables in my living room. I could buy a 10m ethernet cable , drill a hole in the wall , strap it onto the ceiling and to the wall which leads to my pc lol.

Ideas?

Thanks.

Even that would be fine if you want to run a quick speed test.

Edit : Now its looking worse , download has gone down to 5 , and upload has taken a day off. I would also like to point out that the router has 2 ethernet cables coming out of it from which 1 of them , the tv , is working almost all day.

Ok so it looks like a 10/10 fiber connection? Are you able to verify if its fiber/cable and your speed package you are paying for?

Not ethernet cables, I am talking about what type of internet service you have.

There are 3 different types - Fiber, Cable and DSL. The reason I am asking is each troubleshoots differently.
