Looking for a new monitor for future build.

MasterKram

I currently have a laptop with a GTX 950m but soon I will be building a desktop.

For use case, I'm a programmer and a casual gamer.

In a perfect world I'd have 2 monitors

~1920 x 1080 / 1440 (I'm open to suggestions)

~preferribly 60hz

~22 + inches

For my use case, are the above specs reasonable? Would you suggest other specs? What monitors are reasonable deals.

Here is the build.

That system is overkill for 1080p.

You can divide the price of your system by 3 if all you want is 1080p 60hz

Ah man there is no point to get a 2080 my friend.  If your gaming at 1080p 60hz all you need is a 1060 6GB or a 2060 board and your set.  Everything else your good to go.  Just change the video card its pointless waiste of money @ 1080p 60hz.  The 1060 6GB or 2060 will give you 60fps locked.

Asus Sabertooth x79 / 4930k @ 4500 @ 1.408v / Gigabyte WF 2080 RTX / Corsair VG 64GB @ 1866 & AX1600i & H115i Pro @ 2x Noctua NF-A14 / Carbide 330r Blackout

Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface / KRK Rokits 10" / Sennheiser HD 650 / Logitech G Pro Wireless Mouse & G915 Linear & G935 & C920 / SL 88 Grand / Cakewalk / NF-A14 Int P12 Ex
AOC 40" 4k Curved / LG 55" OLED C9 120hz / LaCie Porsche Design 2TB & 500GB / Samsung 950 Pro 500GB / 850 Pro 500GB / Crucial m4 500GB / Asus M.2 Card

Im going for the 2080 for two reasons

1. I'm not in the market for 2 4k monitors / high refresh rate, a little outside of my budget at the moment. Eventually, I will get a set of high-end monitors.

2. longevity, If I purchase the top of the line now I won't have to update for longer.

Then cut the price of your system down and get a good monitor alongside it.

Any suggestions? Places to cut? Monitors to consider?

Longevity? I'm sure you'll be fine for a very long time without an RTX 2080. You also say out of your budget, but ironically buy a $730 GPU.
