CRT lines and crackling

NunoLava1998

My parents have a small 15 year old CRT TV in their bedroom to watch TV. For the past few weeks, its making a weird crackling sound and when it does the picture in some random lines becomes distorted and sometimes white. Is it just dying, or do I need to throw it away ASAP?

I think its end is near.  Unless you give the tv a big whack with your hand and see if the noise stops lol.

Pound everywhere at this point and see if you can get a fix,, If you pounded her everywhere in the back not in front, and still same problem, Then ya get rid of it or sell it on ebay as a ancient collectors item for like 50 bucks.

It goes away after a while. If you turn it off and on while it's not gone away, there's no sound, but if it has gone away it strangely makes the same crackling noises when turning off and on (also displays a white line in the center very briefly, but that's probably normal).

Here, I got video of it.

Sorry for the Bandicam watermark, had to record from Google Photos because 'wow you cant download because it's still processing' which takes a couple of hours and I literally go to bed in 10 minutes.

Is this the CRT just dying, or is it dying but it's going to fuck over everything in a 10km radius when it does?
