GTX 1660ti VS RTX 2060

Midniteb0ne

Hey guys, I'm planning to upgrade my gpu, currently I have a GTX 960 4gb. Should I get a 1660ti which trades blows with the 1070 or should I pay 60$ more and get the RTX 2060 which when over locked trades blows with the 1080, I'll also be getting RTX features and dlss and moreover I'll get tensor cores which would be useful if I ever get into machine learning in the future.

Will I be held back by my i5 6500?

60usd difference for 20% more fps is a  no-brainer if you can afford it, but the 6500 will bottleneck both cards in some games.

If you're going to be gaming at 1440p or higher then I'd say go for the 2060 because the % increase in cost is going to be about the same as the % increase in FPS. At 1080p though it's less easy to recommend but still if you can afford it, for an extra $60 you might get an extra 6 months to a year out of the card down the line so I'd say go 2060
