DRAC on PfSense Dell PowerEdge r210 II

Can I use the iDRAC6 Management Card to remotely view the console from my laptop and type in commands if I am running PfSense instead of Windows Server, since this is a router? I also saw that the iDRAC6 had an Ethernet port on the back, is that a console combo port, where I can use a Cisco console cable to view the output on a laptop?

You need to make sure it has iDRAC Enterprise to get console access, iDRAC Express doesnt include remote console.

But it doesn't matter what OS you run, the console is just a remote KVM.

No the iDRAC port is the ethernet interface for you to be able to access the iDRAC management remotely.

It needs to be connected to your switch/router and configured with an IP address.

Is the card normally two different pieces?

iDrac Express to Enterprise is just a licensing difference but they have different features I believe.

I have always used enterprise as my PowerEdges at home all have enterprise, and all the ones i manage at work do as well.
