Honestly, it's gonna be cloud gaming if you ask me. Not today or tomorrow, but some day it will. It's inevitable. Some form of streaming, per se.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

Ray tracing is a feature nvidia is pushing with their new graphics cards, It's a much more advanced and lifelike way of rendering light and shadows in a scene.

You could talk about the focus on Virtual Reality, becoming immersed into the game and using your whole body to interact.

you could also potentially talk about mobile gaming as phones become more powerful and accessible for everyone

CPU: i5-4690k @ 4.4 GHz | RAM: 12GB DDR3 1333MHz | GPU: Sapphire Pulse RX 580 4GB

I reckon the line between console and PC gaming will become more blurred as hardware gets more powerful. Maybe more cross platform games? I also think VR will become more prevalent (at least I hope it does lol).

Especially if Microsoft get their way, agree that PCs and consoles are kinda merging more than they have. Ray tracing is a nice extra but to me doesn't radically change how games work.

On that side, I think VR will remain an area to watch out for. The high end room scale is where it has most value, and we're still on our first steps to having a Star Trek style holodeck. It may well be that to get a great experience it wont be a home technology (more due to space limits than tech), but you go to your local VR centre.

AR might be a more home friendly in-between solution, giving another category of gaming potential.

Mobile shouldn't be written off either.

Main system: i9-7980XE, Asus X299 TUF mark 2, Noctua D15, Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200 3x 16GB 2R, RTX 3070, NZXT E850, GameMax Abyss, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, Acer Predator XB241YU 24" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync + HP LP2475w 24" 1200p 60Hz wide gamut
Gaming laptop: Lenovo Legion 5, 5800H, RTX 3070, Kingston DDR4 3200C22 2x16GB 2Rx8, Kingston Fury Renegade 1TB + Crucial P1 1TB SSD, 165 Hz IPS 1080p G-Sync Compatible

So you are saying that PC and Console are side by side but what about AI in the normal citizen home and the new games in the future.

If unreal engine and unity are both supporting Ray tracing in there engines I would bet that's where it's heading

A bunch of old men with digital glasses and wires attached to our brains, playing multi senses in game worlds like in "player one" the movie. Even porn will probably be in that form.

Note: I'll probably be one of the old men in the system.

Personally I don't think VR will ever take off I consider it too be like 3D movies we all know it's there but alot of people don't want to use it even if they lowered the cost. As for the question what does it look like in the future i would think once the battle royal movement is over there will another multiplayer genre that will come

As long as you follow the guidelines, most teachers don’t care what you say. You need to present understanding of structured argument, not what ideology to follow.

Specially with AMD properly coming back into the game. They'll almost certainly be wanting to move to their standard CPU/GPU designs (for the sake of cost cutting, throw the low binned CPUs in).

I think the future will be augmented reality combined with VR. Watching a car race on your VR headset whilst sitting in a simulator and actually racing along with the competitors, being able race up to the pack and get your self right in there, looking around and getting a drivers eye view of the race. Same with tour de france, how about being able to "be the ball" in a football game, or being able to stick on a pair of boxing gloves and getting the shit beaten out of you by a virtual NHL team. that sort of thing.

Okay but do you think that there can be a problem in making computers smarter and faster than human and then also giving the computers all our knowledge??
