I need help. No experience in building computers, just a lot of reseach. I'm diving right in though. Will this work for a beginner gaming PC? Need advice and guidance. EVGA 500 W1, 80+ WHITE 500W, Power Supply,

I'd change that to a Corsair CX450. Those EVGA W1 power supplies aren't that great..

MSI Gaming AMD Ryzen B350 DDR4 VR Ready HDMI USB 3 CFX ATX Motherboard (B350 TOMAHAWK)

It's not a bad motherboard, but it may need a BIOS update.

I would recommend an ASRock B450M Pro4.

Greetings,

I am wanting to build a gaming PC in September- October and am wondering what components to use

Here are my theoretical components:

CPU: (Upon release) Ryzen 5 3600 (250 AUD)

GPU: Gigabyte Dual-fan 1660 ti (1800mhz) (480 AUD)

RAM: G. Skill Value 2666 Mhz 2x 8Gb (180 AUD)

Motherboard: Gigabyte AORUS M (150 AUD)

Storage: Seagate Firecuda 1tb 128mb 8gb flash (120 AUD)

PSU: Corsair VS750 80+ Bronze (100 AUD)

Case: Rictoro CR500 (75 AUD)

Fans: Noctua Industrial (Max 2500 RPM) x 4 (35 AUD each)

Plz, tell me what I should change.

Monitor Recommendation would also be appreciated.

Your component list could use a few changes such as changing the PSU, RAM and the addition of an SSD.

Below is what I would recommend, changed parts are underlined and in bold text:

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (250 AUD)

Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus M (150 AUD)

RAM: G.Skill Aegis 16GB 3000MHz  (141.90 AUD) (reason for change: g.skill aegis is cheaper and higher frequency)

GPU: EVGA GTX 1660 Ti XC Gaming (448.80 AUD) (reason for change: cheaper card but is still just as good as the gigabyte card, if not better)

Storage: Crucial MX500 250GB + Seagate Barracuda 2TB (MX500 is 75 AUD, Seagate 2TB is 80 AUD) (reason for change: having an SSD and a HDD rather than an SSHD is better value)

PSU: Corsair CX450M (79 AUD) (reason for change: Corsair VS-series PSUs are crap, CX-series PSUs are much better)

Case: Riotoro CR500 (75 AUD)

Fans: Noctua Industrial x4 (35 AUD each)

Hmmm, what about the Cooler Master MWE Gold 750 Watt PSU?

is good, but there's no reason whatsoever to get 750 watts, 550 or even 450 watts is more than sufficient

I have a suggestion, regarding cpu khööler list. Perhaps an addition of stack heights would be very useful (and that too for maximal cooler height in case of..cases)

Btw, are there any recommended case fans? Which are reliable, move enough air, etc.

If neccessary, I can write the dimensions of CPU coolers and case CPU allowances, if that would be any help.

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )

I'm not sure if that would work well with the current formatting. If the cooler names are fully expanded / separated, the list would be several times longer. It could also be dependent on ram clearance and raising the fan, or the 'standard' fan height being higher than the heatsink alone.

Most info for height can be found on pcpartpicker or the manufacturer's website.

There are so many decent fans and which makes the most sense depends on pricing and what the user is looking for. Most of the time, the stock case fans are fine already.

Terrible. I'm too lazy to point out all the things wrong with it but for example the m12ii is listed as "great".

I posted that before zen 2 happened

also I posted it for the low end stuff

I just wanted to check all the components I plan on buying and seeing if there’s anything that would be worthwhile to change. My budget is around $1,000 CAD ($750 USD) It’s my second pc but my first build.

PC Part Picker Link

Components:

CPU - R5 2600x

Motherboard - MSI B450 Tomahawk

Memory - Corsair Vengeance 16gb (2 x 8gb)

Storage - Samsung 860 Evo ssd (250gb)

GPU - Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 Ti OC

Case - NZXT H500i

PS - EVGA Supernova G3 650 W

I appreciate all the advice I can get.

well... I'd personally change it to this

g3 has some major issues, h500i is meh airflow imo, the 5700 is a much better value, this lexar costs less than the samsung with double the capacity, and the 3600 runs at a higher clockspeed. the b450m-f pro4 gives me cheap choices with the case, and is sufficient to keep the chip well fed

edit... made a mistake here, 5700 is 100 canadian dollars more, so you can swap to a 2600 and a 5700 here
