poured isopropyl alcohol into cpu socket

i poured 70% isopropyl alcohol into my cpu socket to dissolve some thermal paste that i got in the socket. how long should i wait before booting the pc?

depends on how warm the ambient air is and what humidity.

evaporation can be quick, but when in a puddle, or sitting under a cap/mosfet or CPU socket, kinda takes some time.

is it possible for the alcohol to go behind the socket onto the motherboard? btw im in a warm and humid environment (31 celcius 68% humidity)

 

i dont see any alcohol in the socket but im scared that it leaked through onto the motherboard

Just squirt the alcohol on and invert the board while keeping the socket safe. Evaporation should only take a few minutes.

What? Neither pure water nor alcohol is conductive so that's not really true.

 

Now the water portion of a 70% mixture picking up particles is another story, but that's not exactly likely in this scenario.

Pure ispropyl alcohol is not at all conductive (or rather a very poor conductor) , just like water. The contaminates it picks up cause it to be. 
Say you take like distilled water and add salt. The free ions from the salt will make it more conductive.

Just use a hair dryer on the motherboard for few minutes, even 70% isopropyl evaperates at around 80c completly
