Which consoles and handhelds do you own?

Kawaii Koneko

Blah, I'm bored. I figured this would be entertaining.

Consoles:

PlayStation with mod chip (I also have one of the scph-1001 models)

PlayStation 2 fat with network adapter and hard drive softmodded

PlayStation 3 super slim (one of these days I'd like to buy an older model that I can mod)

PlayStation 4

PlayStation TV

XBox softmodded with upgraded 320 GB hdd

XBox 360 FAT with 500 GB hdd (I did the WD firmware flash)

XBox One

XBox One X

Dreamcast

Wii (the model with GameCube controller ports)

I also have/had an NES and Genesis model 2 which may or may not still be around. I either misplaced them or they were stolen...

Handheld:

PSP

Vita (the original OLED model)

Game.com (don't ask me why, I was a dumb kid when I bought it lol)

Switch is probably going to be next on the list.

None, there is no objective reason to own a console over a PC!

What's the point in coming to the console section just to rip on consoles? I'm not going to get into a debate but there are legitimate reasons to own a console over a PC. That said said, I have a gaming PC and own all these consoles. My post was never even about choosing consoles over PC, simply which consoles people own. Obviously a console can exist along side a PC to fulfill someone's gaming needs.

You can call it whatever you want but it is thread hijacking and what many would argue is just trolling. Thread hijacking, at the very least, is just bad forum etiquette.

Like I said, I'm not going to debate it in this thread, that is not the point of the thread. It will just lead to one big debate which will probably end up getting the thread locked because it will have strayed so far off topic. Besides, I know perfectly well what I am doing with my money.

If you want to convince console users they are wasting their money and they should go PC, then go make a thread dedicated to it. I'm sure many people, including myself, would not mind debating this, even though the topic has been beat to death a million times. Furthermore, it seems a bit pointless as I'm guessing most people on this forum who talk in the gaming sections are already PC gamers or aspire to be, and the consoles they do own just help feed their gaming hobby.

To bring it back on track:

Consoles:

NES (Front Loader, my original my parents bought, replaced connector so games actually work)
NES (Front Loader, slightly newer one in better shape, unmodified, games work better on this one)
SNES (Original Version)
Nintendo 64 (Black with Expansion Pak)
Nintendo GameCube (Later Model, Black)
Nintendo Wii (White, actually only gets used to rip GC and Wii images)
Nintendo Wii U Deluxe
Nintendo Switch (Splatoon 2 Green/Pink Edition)
NES Classic Edition
SNES Classic Edition
Microsoft XBOX 360 S (250GB, Black)
Sony PlayStation (Original, Gray)
Sony PlayStation 2 (Slim, Black, Main)
Sony PlayStation 2 (Slim, Black, Extra)
Sony PlayStation 3 (Late 160GB Slim, Black, Upgraded to 500GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD, Main for PS3 games)
Sony PlayStation 3 (Early 160GB Slim, Black, Upgraded to 128GB Intel 545 SSD, Secondary for PS1 and PS2 Classics)
Sony PlayStation 4 (500GB, Glacier White Destiny: The Taken King Limited Edition, Upgraded to 500GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD)
Sony PlayStation 4 Pro (1TB, Jet Black, Upgraded to 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD)
Sony PlayStation TV

Thanks to having multiple TVs (of both LCD and CRT variety) and a copious amount of switches and cables, I actually have most of these hooked up and ready to play. The original PlayStation, the Wii, the older NES are the only things not hooked up.

Handhelds:

Nintendo GameBoy (Original, Gray, Failing screen but still playable, I just use my Super GameBoy)
Nintendo New 3DS XL (Super NES Edition)
Nintendo New 3DS XL (Black, Damaged Top Screen but still playable)
Sony PSP-3000 (Black)
Sony PlayStation Vita 2000 (Black)

It would be nice of you state those legitimate reasons? Furthermore, I am here to teach you how you can make better use of your money by purchasing a PC? Look at me as a knight in shining armor!

And you can just knock that shit off. Saying that kind of garbage pushes people away from PC gaming because they don't want to be associated with that kind of behavior. I love PC gaming but people like you make me unwilling to admit it sometimes. Other than that, some of my favorite games of all time do not have PC versions. I used to think PC was the only way to go but then I learned that I missed all kinds of good games due to that absolutely backwards mentality. You are severely limiting yourself thinking that way.

Now, if you don't mind, I'm gonna go play Destiny 2 on PC for a little bit, then after that I'm gonna go play Herizon: Zero Dawn on my PS4 Pro.

Playstation exclusives, Nintendo exclusives, i'd agree with you if you said there was no point to having an X-Box when you have a decent gaming PC already but you're just a hater lol

On topic though, i have a PS4 Pro, Nvidia android TV/Shield and my PC.

Too many, probably. Or too little, depending on who you ask.

Consoles:

GameCube (and also GameBoy Player)

Wii (White GC compatible model)

Wii U

Nintendo Switch

PS1

PS2 (fat and a couple slim units)

PS3 (Ultra slim)

Xbox (Original)

Handhelds (probably my favorite systems have been handhelds):

GameBoy (Original)

GameBoy Pocket

GameBoy Color (Atomic purple = best, but I also have a yellow and green one which also look great. Looking to complete the normal color set)

GameBoy Advance (Once again, clear consoles rock!)

GameBoy Advance SP (reshelled two of them)

DS Lite (my original silver one and a pink one in much better condition)

3DS (original black model)

PSP (1000, the battery is totally flat so have not played it much at all)

Of course I also have my own GameBoy Macro! Basically a DS Lite I had with a shell that was somewhat beat up, had a top screen with some dead pixels and in taking it apart I ruined the touchscreen connector on the board.. So I removed the top screen, did some modding (AKA: moved the speaker to the bottom half and added a resistor) and now it can run with only a touchscreen.

Basically the perfect system to play GBA games on or install an emulator on an R4 card if you are into that stuff ;) . Nice backlit (bright) screen, rechargeable battery with good batterylife, headphone jack and a great design (IMO).

Nowadays I am a lot more into the taking apart these systems to clean them or possibly refurbish them in other ways. That is kinda what I love to do, which I partially why I did that DS Lite 'mod'. To salvage something out of what I had.

At the moment I am not looking for a ton of new systems; mainly the other GameBoy Color.. Colors! and some more Nintendo handhelds to kinda finish off that collection.

Well, you can't play some games then and innovation in Controller is also not something going to happen.

Didn't Nintendo just release a boxingish game with ARMS and motion controls??

And with the actual lineup you have like 2 or 3 games you could play that aren't available on WiiU at the moment...

Like Octopath Traveller, Fire Emblem Warriors and Super Mario Odyssey. And that's about it for the AAA Titles.

Exactly. Of course if BOTW hadn't been released on the Wii U, the Switch would have been an essential purchase.
