Picking GPU for my first high-end pc.

Ero

Hello.

I want to build my first pc and I want to use it for a lot of things like 3d modeling, high frame rate esport gaming and playing every game on ultra setting.

So I first tried to go with gtx 1080 (it's price for gigabyte g1 is 570$ here) but then I find out about rtx series and how rtx 2070 is better than gtx 1080 ti.

And finally I saw system requirements for Metro Exodus and it seems gtx 1080 is not that good anymore.

So I want to pick between gtx 1080, rtx 2070 and rtx 2080 which cost me 570$, 880$,1170$ for 2080 windforce and 1400$ for its waterforce version.

But honestly I don't know which one to pick and on top of that I want to use ryzen 7 2700x (cost me 370$) because intel cpu are too expensive in here( An i7 8700k cost 700$).

In the end I don't know what pick to suit my needs and give me a good gaming experience and last for at least 4-5 years. I don't want bottleneck too.

Ps: Is waterforce version good? I mean I never have a good gpu so I don't know about noises and … how it affect performance?

Ps2: For those cards how many fan my case needs? Should I install fans in all 7 spots?

The better the card is, the longer it will last you before feeling out of date. That being said, none of the RTX cards are a 'good value' given their prices right now.

If you don't mind forking out a lot of money, get the best card you can afford and be happy with it.

If you're looking for some high end gaming on a budget that will last you long then go for 1080ti but you'll not be able to avail ray tracing features.

RTX 2070 is a great value card IMO and will last you quite long

If you really don't care about ray tracing then 1080 will be the better choice. If you want ray tracing then 2070 is better choice

2700x pairs beautifully with the RTX 2070. If you want to go all out and have the cash, get a RTX2080. Better value in the 2070.
