Any casual collector?

I have thought about collecting them, since they are always so cheap at flea markets and in stores I often see very cool ones; but I have decided not to because it's way too much of an investment I think.

Next to the other things I collect and do in my free time, I think Hot Wheels collecting could take in a lot of time, because I probably would make up lists as to what vehicles I want, but also the condition of them can very a lot. Buying them second hand (which I like doing in collecting, since that usually makes it much cheaper ) would have a lot of variables in terms of condition, which is what kinda scares me to get into this.

In this year I might pick up some cool looking ones that I see and are in decent condition.

Disgusting! I grew up a real kid and played with them in the dirt and sand. I'm sure I have a dozen or so in storage. All scratched up. Scratched up. Crooked wheels. No original packaging.
