Pc turns on for 1 second

I just built my pc and whenever I turn it on, all the led's, fans, and the computer itself turns on for 1 second then turns back off. Anybody know why?

A computer can be very temper mental. One of the biggest reasons why a computer may due this can be as simple as a physical component is not seated correctly. When the PC is first powered on, it runs what is known as POST (Power On Self Test). If it runs into a problem with this test, it either beeps at you, or just shuts down.

 

For starters, unplug every non vital USB or video, and reseat the RAM and graphics card. Then try to power it on. If it still does this, please inform us with what your components are so we can better assist. 

 

One other possibility is that the motherboard was delivered with an incompatible or old version of its firmware, one that may not allow all the components to work with it.

I had forgotten to suggest this. Wouldn't even occur to me that this could be a missed step lmao

Sorry for the wait guys.

Before this post, my gpu didn't fit because the 20 pin connector thing was in the way, so I cut part of the case off which allowed the gpu to fit. I then tested it to see if my pc would work, and it turned on,even though the graphics card wasn't all the way in the pcie slot, which was weird. I then pushed the gpu back into the slot, which required a bit of force because the 20 pin connector was still in they way, but I still got the gpu in. I turned on my pc and now I ended up with this problem. I can't imagine it being the 20 pin connector causing the problem because how would the pc even turn on in the first place with all the fans and led's?

Just because it shows power, doesn't means something cannot be broken. If you remove the gpu again, does it post?

I just realized the cpu cable wasn't plugged in cause I forgot to plug it back in from the last troubleshooting I did. The problem stopped occurring.
