Finally continuing the watercooled F@H box!

I picked up this no-name 4U server chassis for a few euros yesterday, and I can finally see this thing coming together. :D

just waiting for the GPU's and the PSU now, and then I can start putting the loop together.

big question tough: soft tubing for ease of access, or Hardline for looks?

If it going to be placed in a corner chugging along then soft tubing. Places in a "sexy" angle with some plexi to show of all it's crunching hotness then by all means go for hard-line.

plans for now are to have it placed in a corner being just a silent crunching box. so i guess soft tubing makes more sense. i'd love to make it hardline anyway tough ?

Pretty useless suggestion. Like it genuinely has no relevance to what I posted.

But it does? you can use a bigger GPU with your rig rather than the LP 1050 Ti which will have thermal problems anyways.

That is some amazing old computers you got rocking. The best part is that they are all usable for light gaming and upward even if some are +10 years old.

Yeah I build and sell PCs out of my apartment, a lot of those aren't even mine anymore.

And yeah the higher end Core 2 Quads are really good for gaming, I have an EVGA 750i SLI with a Q9550 to 4.2Ghz right now, gonna be giving it to my friend because his Intel DX48BT2 mobo is DDR3 and my EVGA 750i SLI is DDR2.

Yep, telling me to cut a few holes in my case to have a graphics card as well as a PSU hanging out of it (ruining the entire point of getting a 7010 in this form factor), and telling my mom to buy another 1050Ti to "fix" a thermals problem that doesn't exist is a great suggestion.

Yep, hottest I've seen this card get is 75C which isn't bad considering it has to re-use the air it and my 3770 dump into the chassis. Granted it sounds like a laptop with a slightly deeper note at all times because the fan curve below 50C makes no sense, but that doesn't bother me (especially since I tend to just use headphones anyways).

So I've decided that the best screen to use with my PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360 is my iMac's 5k Display and to do this I bought a Elgato HD60 S :) The Dell display is just for extra stuff and yes I can use it whist gaming!

So my setup looks like this I also have a projector I'll hopefully be upgrading soon and I've got to re-paint the wall I project onto or get a proper screen.

The funniest thing about that case is the floppy drive.  I would be curious if those front USB ports are 1.0 or 2.0 or if it depends on the motherboard.

Iirc, they're early usb 2.0,

Noctua DLH9. (modified to flair and fit this board)
8g generic ram ( Pre sure the sunflower can hold 2x16. putting that in shortly)
2 tb 7200 Blue HDD

kinda over clocked, gtx 1050 ti. Phanteks on a vertical mount.
Corsair Tx550m going in to replace the generic PSU.
slightly older pic. The Hdd is NOW in a Modded Drive cage with a Al-u-min-ium heat sink from the cpu that the noctua replaced

soon to be oil cooling the 1050 as a yoke.

* I couldnt get my cooler bracket exactly level but i think the slight dip is only visible from the pic angle.*

Does the CPU get any cooling with that spacing between the fan and the fin stacks? Air lives by the law of least resistance and don't go thru the cooler as shown above, not i enough quantities to resemble good cooling. On the Push-side it probably will be okay, but not on the pull-side.

Well the 1050 Ti is a smol carb that doesn't produce much heat, so even a LP Dell handles it fine. Sure, a GPU on the outside is sexy but not needed.

So called "duct" tape is actually a corruption of the brand name "Duck Tape". It was never designed for ductwork. It was originally designed for sealing ammo cases during WWII. Back in the sixties, we called it supertape.

Useless trivia moment over. You are now being returned to your regularly scheduled thread.

Actually yeah !.  under the biggest load I can get on the beastly 3/4 cores, Ive dropped 20-30 c*. The thermal compound that was on it previously was a dusty mess due to the coverage of the original cooler some older stock coolers dont even cover the whole cpu -.- . Everything about this is pretty pointless, except for what Ive learned in doing it. I threw the gpu on the out side to hide the OG psu xD.

so tasty
Running " FOR HONNOR", some online stress test, a few other things I figured might add to the stress. nothing over 33 degrees Celsius. after a while, I started to wave my mouse around violently in an attempt to cause more stress with no thermal result. hope my post is okay to go back in here. Thoughts ?
