I saw Roasting your worst setups and it was so funny that I decided to post mine.

I use my pc for work station, multimedia and light gaming.

TECH:

Intel i3 10100

MSI GT 1030 OC silent  (overclocked at W10)

HyperX 8GB (overclocked as prescribed)

SSD's Samsung: 850 EVO + 840 EVO

Cheap H410M S2H motherboard

DVD burner

I don't have problems so I am kinda proud with my dual boot (W10+ Xubuntu) but I found some ...glitches.

Spoiler

Glitches: old printer used as a table

1 printer for scanning and 1 printer for printing

Display height correction

Camera upside down for handy mounting and positioning

Carton at a fan for a more silent pc

1 printer for scanning and 1 printer for printing

Less leg room due to drawer position

Long lan cable curled inside kitchen roll

Display port adaptor bought: I wanted HDMI from motherboard and graphic card.

Wires coming out from empty fan places

Reverse cooling

2 gpu's while I can only use one

Jokes:

Paper for nose for in case of allergic reaction

Drone as cooler

It’s a little cramped there.. not too sure I like it like that. I lost my desk because they closed the schools here so my kids need the desk. The cabinet doesn’t resonate much but it doesn’t matter, gotta watch the wattage.

You don't have too much input lag using wireless controllers on the NES and Famicom? And the pre-built 8BitDo controllers are decent? I bought an 8BitDo conversion kit to mod an old Genesis 6-button controller into a Bluetooth controller and the results were extremely disappointing. Thought it would be amazing for playing Sonic Mania on my Switch but the lag was terrible. No better on my Raspberry Pi either.

All the 8bitdo stuff is 2.4ghz and the input lag is very low. For example, the M30 has been measured with MiSTer (using a Daemonbites adapter) at around 5ms. On real hardware that's presumably not going to be any slower and possibly faster. The Saturn controllers, on the other hand, are over 20ms even though they're 2.4g.

As a fighting game and SHMUP enthusiast, everything is fine except for the Retrobit Saturn controllers.

Damn I'm jealous of that PVM. And didn't realize you could buy a flashcart that could play FDS. Curious, do you find the picture better playing on real PS1 vs playing on your PS2 since I see you have both hooked to your PVM? Or do you just have the real PS1 hooked up for being able to play off a microSD?

I have both connected for a few reasons:

1. PS2 can't use its native PS1 backward compatibility via HDD/FreeMcBoot because the built in PS1 CPU doubles as the I/O processor. It CAN be emulated with popsloader, but the emulation isn't perfect.

2. PS1 has a true digital<->digital mod that allows it to be connected to a modern display via HDMI. No scaler needed. 😛

3. PS1 hardware is just more reliable than PS2 hardware.

So I've been working on redoing my entire desk setup since last month. Think I'm finally at a point where I am satisfied with how it's turned out.

Still a few more things I could tweak and I need to get my Logitech G603 fixed because the G604 is hard on me physically, but I finally have the first new desk in the house since 2007. I've been dreaming about having a setup like this for 14 years and I finally have it 💙💙💙

Finally had the time today because past me didn't install one of the desk bracket properly and the desk started sagging ... so I had to take a few hours to fix it all. Now I just need some underdesk cable management !

Picked up a used 960 during these trying times. Was a good deal and plays everything I've thrown at it. Hopefully replace with a 3060 this winter.

Specs:

Ryzen 3 3200g

16gb DDR4 2666 (2x8)

120gb M.2 boot drive

1tb WD BLUE HDD

EVGA GTX 960 SSC

EVGA 500W PSU

Would like to replace the case with something with better cable management and upgrade to to a Ryzen 5 series cpu. But for gaming on a sensible budget this system is pretty well balanced for now.
