GTX 1060 6GB or RTX 2060

MacBook1

Title says it all. Do you think it would be better to stick with a GTX 1060 6GB, or sell it and get an RTX 2060?

Thanks!

Just because they have the same numbers doesn't meant they're the same. The RTX 2060 performs about the level of the 1070/1070 Ti and that's definitely better than the 1060 6gb.

If you can get a hold of an RTX 2060, then go for it.

If you've already got the 1060 I would suggest holding off on buying a new card until we see the rumored next gen non-RTX cards from Nvidia.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was going to mention the 1070, and I probably should have, but he asked between two GPU's and I suggested the 2060 because it's the better card of the two. I'd pick the 2060 over a 1070 used mainly because it's new (new in box and a new GPU that is recent).

I know they are different. That’s why I asked. I just wanted to know if it was worth it to upgrade.

It really depends on the games you're playing, the CPU you have (and if it's overclocked), and resolution you play at.

Are you unhappy with the performance you're getting now? Do you think spending $350-$400 would be worth getting the performance you would gain from getting it?

If the answer is yes and yes, then it's worth buying it.

I’d say save up for a 2070ti or 2080 / 2080ti
