Your Faults that You Aren't Afraid to Admit?

PlayStation 2

Something I've never been particularly ashamed about is admitting my faults, and there are many of them. I wonder if you have any faults that you aren't afraid to admit or don't care to admit?

I'll keep it short but to the point: I'm not very knowledgeable in general and do things the way I do them because it works, at least for me.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

Local asshole and 6th generation console enthusiast.

I don't have the patience to repeatedly repair things that keep breaking.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

I openly admit my faults.  I'm not ashamed of them. One of the biggest ones is my lack of empathy even towards my own kids. I'm not a great father and I know it. But I will make sure my kids have the chance to have a better life than I did. Even if they hate me growing up.

BTW my one and only fault is, I pick my nose frequently, and yesterday I placed it in an elevator that was shiny and placed "it" where everyone could see it. LOL

That's not a fault.

You shouldn't feel put down for not being social, some people are just made that way.

I don't like getting complimented. It feels itchy, never know what to reply other than "Thanks". Even more so when I feel like I'm not doing a job well and somehow get complimented on how well I'm doing... (is this low self esteem?)

... Is that a fault? No?
Fine.

I bought an exercice mat(like 6 months ago). NEVER used it, still in its packaging sitting in a corner of the room with my dumbbells I never use.... (laziness? Lack of motivation?)

Still not a fault?

... I dunno what to say, I work too much? If I wasn't forced to take a 15 minute break and an hour long lunch break, I'd likely just take a 5 minutes break and 10 minutes lunch break.

Is this a job interview?

Umm, I'm rather slow? and I talk too much if I get started, so I try not to say anything in the first place.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
        In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
        In Flanders fields.

I struggle with putting my health as a priority, as I always focus on everything else. I constantly forget to do treatments when I should, so some days I will miss one or two treatments.

Compliance is something I have struggled with since I was diagnosed, and It upsets my wife greatly. It causes a slight circle because I feel like I'm not being quite the husband I know I could be which becomes a bit of a mental distraction.

I just end up doing something fun, do it untill i get too tired to shower and go to bed and then repeat lol

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I'm pretty stubborn. If I can't really do something, but it needs to be done I just do it anyway, even though I shouldn't.

I still do all the maintenance on the small farm my parents have, just because they are getting pretty old and can't do it very well anymore (whenever I go away back to uni it gets pretty bad, not too fair on the animals but can't do much), before that I also worked as a gardener, which burnt me up pretty well too. I did my back in a bit before, but I still continued to work too hard for my own good and I really need to see a physiotherapist. The main trouble is I wake up each morning and think I'm fine but sometimes its like an electric pain, and I always just ignore it.

Just as an example, but it's the same with arguments, how I fix stuff, the determination that something must be done 'right' and not just correctly.

  • I'm very forgettful.
  • I have very low self esteem/confidence, especially in social situations (doubly worse now that I'm separated/divorced).
  • I struggle with change, such as changing jobs, moving cities, etc.
  • I'm far too polite/nice - I find it very hard to say no to someone.
  • I don't have an eagerness to learn - I'm happy knowing what I know - even if that means being stuck in a low paid job (that I actually really enjoy).

Stop and think a second, something is more than nothing.

I've got almost no confidence.

I don't like social situations whatsoever.

I try to attend school as little as possible because I don't want to be in that sort of environment, it freaks me out a lot.

I'm very bad at communication.

I usually don't think before I speak.

A lot of things that @chiller15 mentioned also apply to me too.

I struggle with change and I find it difficult to say no (although I think the "difficult to say no" bit is because I'm british. politeness and respect is drilled into you at a young age over here)

I have zero patience for people who are inefficient and who don't communicate clearly.

For example I'll email my university advisor a question and she'll take 3 days to reply back to me saying she can't help me with the issue...

I know where you're coming from. However when I was at school, I didn't have anywhere near the amount of anxiety/social issues I have now. It was only through my 20s that it really got worse. If I could go back and tell my younger self something, it would be to become more confident and socially active.

My advice to you would be to attend school more, try and communicate/socialise more (even if only a little). It gets harder to change those things as you get older. I'm in my 30s now and reached a point where I have to change, and it's not easy.

Stop and think a second, something is more than nothing.

I'm pretty stupid. According to my IQ score I'm in the lower 20% of people.

It's honestly not something that bothers me too much. There's not a whole lot I can do to change it and it's not something I'm scared to admit.

If we're talking character flaws that can be changed, then I'm extremely talkative. I'll talk to pretty much anyone about everything, and it can be a bit intimidating to a lot of people. I've gotten better at it through the years, but it still happens that I talk to people until their ears bleed.

Too Humble XD

overweight, lack of motivation to finish projects, general procrastination...

Insanity is not the absence of sanity, but the willingness to ignore it for a purpose. Chaos is the result of this choice. I relish in both.

i'm not social IRL at all

i lack motivation for loads of things

i'm bad at saving money

i buy things on impuls and later think what the hell why did i buy that

if i feel depressed i'll try to make myself feel better by eating

i have a caffeine addiction (i need an energy drink to wake my brain up at the start of the day, or else i feel super derp all day) and most of the time another one at the middle of the day.

i cannot explain technical things at an easy to understand level. like if someone asks for help with Linux i'll say 'openterminal and type *a command*' and then the person will reply with what is a terminal. at that point i will give up.
